I definitely say #1 more but #2 was used in a Nightmare on Elm Street movie so its deeply rooted

Its so hard but its very rewarding. There's lots of other arts Id love to learn but Im with you; not enough hours in the day

Happy how the bottom two eyes turned out.

You know Id be stoked to see it but dont burn yourself out

These eyebrows need to be studied

Holy moly that's a ton of plates.

Joe Burris @joefburris.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

A fair assumption. Just crazy good matteing and forced perspective. Its a good every trick in the book movie

Absolutely demolished my brain seeing this as a kid. Incredible

Id kill for a little Arcane portrait. Such an incredible design

The paper stock is so nice in that hardcover

The Vast of Night! Such a banger

I also worked at a theater for my first job. Sometimes it was a nightmare (a lot more death than one would expect) but I met some of the best people Ive ever known there. And getting promoted to projectionist was a blast until it became obsolete.

"The Legion of Horribles" paragraph is where it grabbed me completely

I totally understand people who hate his run on style but damn if I dont love it. On a future revisit Id recommend the audiobook read by Richard Poe. Dude really understands McCarthy's cadence.

I reread it every few years. There's nothing else like it

So many great shorts. In the Hills the City is the pinnacle but damnit it I dont love it all.

Congrats dude! I know your courses are helping me out so Im stoked to see you recognized.

Im sorry to hear you're having troubles getting it published. It was one of my favorite titles. I hope you're able to complete it someday. Its something special.

Depends on my mood. Usually Tom Waits, The Mountain Goats, David Bowie. If I don't want lyrics Khurangbin is a good fit or I listen to movie scores.

Was lucky enough to get to see Society on the big screen with a packed house. RIP Screaming Mad George #lastfourwatched #filmsky #letterboxd #screamingmadgeorge

To each their own on that but I think its more interesting if the paranoia runs so deep you cant even truly trust yourself

That's sort of how the actors played their parts. I remember seeing an interview with Charles Hallahan who said he played it as if his character (who was the Thing at the time) had no actual idea if he was The Thing or not. He was a perfect copy and until survival depended on it stayed hidden.

As it should be. Im excited to see it then acuse the other media of ripping you off 😉

Always good to see old Juggernaut mourn for the destruction of the towers when he himself tried to destroy them not 10 years earlier.

Joe Burris @joefburris.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

There you go. Its different. Two things can have the same base idea. Its all good
