One problem with Trump is that there is so much bad about him that if you aren’t paying attention, it seems impossible for it all to be true. Especially after how much attention the media gave him for so long.

One major difference is that only a small percentage of American feminists are TERFs and even they often try to hide it. While MANY British feminists are TERFs and are out and proud about it. (Even if they don’t like to use the term.)

This is very true. Some ML told me a few years ago that social democracy is hopeless because the far right is on the rise in Western Europe and North America. I pointed out that Russia isn’t Marxist leninist anymore, but that doesn’t count because Gorbachev betrayed communism or something.

There is a lot of injustice in the the justice system. But too many leftists insist on black and white thinking. So the fact that many people are unjustly convicted of crimes is taken to mean that everyone convicted of a crime is convicted unjustly.
