My Father’s Day present to myself. Baked some banana bread and got some wraps from the new Lebanese place down the hill, the Charcoal Pit Mediterranean Grill, for me, Poppy, and the kid. Excellent, as always. Back to work in a couple of days; woe, etc. Vacation is always too short.

They did not and now we are all living trapped in the consequences.

So, todays “exit strategy” seems to be going about as well as that last one from a few years back… Yeah, this thing is STILL holding onto that lamppost outside the Haverhill Public Library, 43 years later. God DAMN, but they built to last, didn’t they?

crow-black sky sheds stars

to drift in silence
skim the frozen earth
then cling in sudden crowds,
weave soft shrouds, embrace the rough
