President for hire it seems? 🤔 Single handedly defining a whole new category of corruption takes some doing And the Trump award for first class bribery goes to... On this occasion, Saudi! Congrats for being latest in line of authoritarian regimes to appeal to Trumps BIG ego and SMALL brain!

What a comeback. Need more organisations willing to push back like this. The irony of the post was spot on with the right tone 👏 How other way is there than succinctly stating the facts in the face of such ignorance?

Donald Trump has escalated the biggest assault on free speech since McCarthyism. The issue, of course, is Palestine. Right-wing claims to "free speech" are Orwellian lies. New column 👇 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Again though, you place yourself into a position with a public profile, you explicitly promote yourself in the public discourse.. And you are then surprised that when you are in public that you are engaged with the publics issues! We had several MPs in the UK complain of a similar thing Grow up!

Difference between sustainable productive & unsustainable unproductive investment really The longer gov are tied to current political ideology and so called rules, the longer a London centric view will maintain Investment in infrastructure and SMEs in the UK from QE would be the preferred option
010 1
Joe Byron @joebyron.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
Basically these self imposed rules are just political They constrain ability to direct actual productive investment into the areas we need And make the city king makers in the process with power to influence gov policy
020 2
Joe Byron @joebyron.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
In essence the gov don't understand QE, instead they would appease big finance and lend from the financial markets through selling bonds instead.. this is done through city of London It's also why the markets have this and previous gov over a barrel as by their own fiscal 'rules' they have no room
020 2
Joe Byron @joebyron.bsky.social · 09/03/2025
They dont understand difference between fiscal borrowing e.g from the markets, & borrowing from the bank of England e.g QE Its a London centric view of borrowing due to this gov lack of understanding of how to invest properly for productive purpose QE can do this without unsustainable public debt

Does this not describe whats happened in the US? 🤔 But published in 2005 This book provides accurate predictions of 2008 financial crash AND of subsequent political discourse & direction Democracy has been degraded through handing of power to corporate interest for years, Musk is the culmination
"It Becomes questionable whether democracy can be maintained, or whether vested interests will not simply 'buy' the politicians (for instance funding their electoral campaigns)"

The definition of cheap is only relative to ones income Simple maths many right wingers forget 1. Those economically vulnerable I doubt think prices of goods are cheap 2. Real wages have declined therefore the 'cheap' price reflects the lack of quality employment & US corp exploitation elsewhere

Joe Byron @joebyron.bsky.social · 08/03/2025
People centred politics can only be realised through people centred economics Instead of creating Billions ££ through BoE QE in bank reserves that only served the wealthy in stocks and asset price inflation QE should be used to drive new investment in the productive capacity of the UK. E.g. jobs

6. I believe these ideas turned into a digestible format for our hyper digital times CAN and will resonate with the majority of people in both UK, US & beyond. The many people who champion social and economic justice need to share some common ideas in how to stand up to the fight that is coming!

4. The supply side has been adversely impacted in most so called developed countries, e.g UK, US This as an impact of reduced productive investment, due to the political policies of neo liberal governments that have moved ever more rightwards It's a political choice to disinvest in the UK and US

3. It disaggregates credit creation by banks into productive and non productive. It explains what we have observed in many countries over the past few decades Incl. The growing inequality, falling real wages and reliance on foreign investment/capital flows. In addition it impacts productivity

1. I hear a lot about how the left needs to galvanise and find a way to communicate a coherent vision for society and the world, but don't see the dots joining up. There needs be a central paradigm that the left coalesce around, like the right have done with immigration, small state etc.

I agree Part of the shenanigans we are seeing I suspect is a smoke screen to crowbar open the legal and regulatory systems of other countries.. SO the tech bros can keep monopolising without restriction. This is the new front of imperial expansion EU is prime example with new digital laws

South Park nailed it, those few series around the last Trump presidency captured the ideocracy of the time. At a time when satire evaporated why was it left to a cartoon to hold the moral compass & call out the politically & morally corrupt? Each day now seems like we're living a south park parody!

In a warped kind of way what your saying is that Trump has done the US version of Brexit. We've had all of the wonderful impacts you have described here in the UK post Brexit, amazing benefits! Only difference I think is whereas the UK divorced itself from EU Trump is divorcing US from the world!

If every time he talks value is wiped from the markets, how long before his tech bros see this as impacting their wealth, interests and power and the oligarchy turns on Trump, I wonder? 🤔 The only real allegiance any of these crooks have is with their bank accounts $$$
