Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 29/09/2026Cool to see @cloudflare.social referencing atmosphereaccount.com here 0130
Reposted by Joe BasserMike Masnick @masnick.com · 28/09/2026This is huge news, especially for all the "Bluesky isn't really decentralized" folks. Having the PLC Org as wholly independent is a big, important step forward. And great to see that Filippo is part of it... 314629

Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026@knotbin.com has a sweet matching pink pixel 9a for @sprk.so testing 030
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026The bidirectional declaration wouldn't need any third attestor, if I'm understanding you correctly @alex.mcroberts.me 100
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026Oh like @atmosphereaccount.com would attest to that? Wouldn't it still need a way to verify that? (obviously we know the bsky situation, but I wouldn't want to have to manually verify all PDSes going forward). I guess we could use the existing DNS/email verifications to then write that attestation. 200
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026This is great, sounds super useful - I'm sure it'll make those who are migrating's lives a lot easier haha 020
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026Yeah I was thinking a bidirectional declaration between a PDS and its operator's account. Most of the machinery is necessary when the host domain is separate from the public-facing account. E.g bsky.app vs bsky.social. What do you think? Would establish 'this account represents this PDS's operator' 120
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026Yeah good point. Mine is setup to filter out based on some signals that make it likely to be a ‘public’ PDS vs. someone’s personal one. (Which they can still choose to list if they want) but you’re right I should definitely look out for those kind of copycat scenarios 000
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 14/09/2026Awesome! That’s exactly what mine does too - more so for users to find a place to create an account if they don’t have one yet! 130

Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 27/08/2026Congrats! You can catch me running around Maria Hernandez haha 010
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 27/08/2026Then having a personal model of your choice running inference on it and doing valuable work for you without being locked in a walled garden 🤔. Perhaps @comail.at email included… definitely something I’d pay for 180
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 27/08/2026This is cool. Definitely something in this, specialty PDSes with higher limits for example…I could see people wanting independent personal storage that also has complete social context for sure. 170
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 26/08/2026Do we have a standard poll lexicon? Feel like I saw a @lexicon.community one floated? 190
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 26/08/2026Immersing myself in cryptographic signatures really hashing out some personal issues 080
Joe Basser @joebasser.com · 25/08/2026Thank you! Yep, I'm writing up a blogpost that incorporates some of the slides, but if you'd rather just have the full slide deck I can post that somewhere! 100
