Tried to get this one out with last week's release but I wasn't satisfied, it needed more polish. It's now polished 🧼 Introducing `datatable`: A searchable, scrollable table for those selections that require a bit more information up front Available in Laravel Prompts v0.3.16

Here's an example of using several of these new prompts together in a simple CLI application that utilizes the Laravel AI SDK: - User enters prompt - Terminal title updates to reflect the prompt - AI SDK agent enhances the story - Story is streamed out to the terminal as it is generated by agent

`notify()` sends native desktop notifications straight from your CLI. Supports macOS (with subtitle and sound options) and Linux (with icon support). Perfect for long-running commands: kick off a deploy, switch tabs, and get a ping when it's done.
notify(
            title: 'Deploy Complete',
            body: 'Your application has been deployed to production successfully.',
        );

Joe Tannenbaum @joe.codes · 18/03/2026
`title()` sets the terminal window/tab title. Call it at each stage of a process so users can see status at a glance, even when the tab is in the background. Pass an empty string to reset it.

Joe Tannenbaum @joe.codes · 18/03/2026
Select prompts now support a dynamic `info` message. Pass a closure to the new `info` parameter and it receives the currently highlighted value - display pricing details, descriptions, IDs, or any contextual info that updates as the user navigates.
160
Joe Tannenbaum @joe.codes · 18/03/2026
`autocomplete()` gives users type-ahead suggestions while still allowing them to enter any value. Pass a static array or a closure that filters dynamically based on what they've typed. Great for config keys, file paths, or anything where you'd like to save the user some typing.
130
Joe Tannenbaum @joe.codes · 18/03/2026
The new `stream()` prompt is for streaming partial text to the terminal. Automatic word wrapping, ANSI support, and a smooth fade-in effect built right in. Perfect for AI responses, real-time logs, or anything that arrives incrementally.

Joe Tannenbaum @joe.codes · 18/03/2026
Let's start with `task()`: Run long processes with a live-updating spinner, scrolling log output, and stable success, warning, and error messages that stick around. Update the label as the task progresses.

Current APIs (wip) `processLog` heavily inspired by @bomb.sh's `taskLog`
$stream = (new StoryBot)->stream($result);

$outputStream = stream();

foreach ($stream as $event) {
    if (! $event instanceof TextDelta) {
        continue;
    }

    $outputStream->append($event->delta);
}

$outputStream->close();$messages = [
    'Thinking...',
    'Embellishing...',
    'Enhancing...',
    'Crafting...',
    'Ideating...',
];

$result = processLog(
    label: $messages[0],
    callback: function (Logger $logger) use ($prompt, $messages) {
        $stream = (new Embellisher)->stream($prompt);
        $response = '';
        $count = 0;

        foreach ($stream as $event) {
            if (! $event instanceof TextDelta) {
                continue;
            }

            $response .= $event->delta;
            $content = explode(PHP_EOL, $event->delta);

            foreach ($content as $index => $line) {
                $logger->partialLine($line);

                if ($index > 0) {
                    $logger->commitPartialLine();
                }
            }

            $count++;

            if ($count % 20 === 0) {
                $logger->label($messages[$count % count($messages)]);
            }
        }

        return trim(collect(explode(PHP_EOL, $response))->last());
    }
);

Cleaning out a bunch of files from my computer and stumbled upon this one One of the more life-changing emails I've ever sent
Hey Taylor,

I was that kid that created an Angelfire site for my theater group in
high school. We wanted to promote our upcoming shows on the internet
and no one knew how to do it. So I figured it out. It blew my mind
that I could just type some characters into Notepad and out popped a
website. I got hooked.

Fast forward to today, I am now a seasoned full-stack developer that
has been building entire web apps from top to bottom for well over 15
years. Laravel has been an integral part of my stack since 4.2 was
released back in 2014.

I’ve lived a lot of lives over the course of my career, and what has
crystallized for me over the past couple of years is that I want to
build developer-focused tooling and products. This is what motivates
me. This is what brings me joy.

This is why I built Bellows, a CLI app that sits on top of Forge to
provision your sites even faster and manage your third-party
credentials. This is why I built Blip, allowing developers to flexibly
manage the IP whitelisting for their server. I want to make
developers’ lives easier, I want to make tasks feel like magic.

I love working on hard problems. I love experimenting with code to see
if something amazing comes out the other side. I love collaborating
with other talented developers and exchanging ideas and techniques.
Last, but certainly not least: I’m fun to work with. I have a great
sense of humor, I’m a fun hang, and my Slack gif game is strong.

I would love to have a conversation the next time you’re expanding the
Laravel team. Building out world-class products and packages under the
Laravel banner would be both a dream and a task I’m well-suited for.

Talk soon,
Joe

Speaking of declaration merging file files, Inertia gets to have some fun too. Wayfinder generates these files for your shared props so that you get full type support when using the usePage hook.
