Beijing's newest aireport, Da Xing. It's ultra modern, and so efficient that even at peak travel times, it never feels overcrowded. It's always my first choice, when possible, for flying to Europe. #photography

We had a few days in Hollad three or so weeks ago. We go every year, and love the place. These are from Delft, a beautiful old town with a tradition for producing fine blue and white porcelain.

The miXc Mall on Jing Shi Road, Jinan. It's a fantastic mall, with many shops and restaurants, amongst my favourites of which is a rather good Russian restaurant. Have a brunch there, and you won't need to eat for the rest of the day. #photography #architecture #urban

Harbin borders with Russia, and early Russian migrants brought their Orthodox Christian religion with them. Even today, there is a heavy Russian cultural influence.

The Orthodox Cathedral of St Sofia, Harbin, Northeast China.

Harbin, in North East China, borders with Russia, and may Russians moved here during the 19th Century. The Cathdral fell into disuse and subsequent decay during the period of China's "Great Leap Forward," but was restored in 1967, although the interior is still devoid of its original decoration.

One half of the Luoyang city gatehouse.

Luoyang is in north mid China, and gets very cold in the winter. It was here that I discovered that the heating in electric taxis is utterly pathetic at best. The place is well worth a vist, though.

Beijing Da Xing Airport. It's an amazing place; not quite up there with Doha aesthetically, but it's so well laid out, so a clear favourite nevertheless.
