My Fourth of July Weekend this year was a memorable one. 🇺🇸 It’s been over a decade since I have had the spark to sit down and write with intention. I forgot how much I love writing and also how picky I am with my diction. I’m proud of myself. (even though I feel like it needs more editing.)

My Thoughts on America’s 250th Milestone Anniversary

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”

A document that forever altered our human evolution. Whether intentional or not, the unanimous declaration contains a pathos formula that has inspired revolutions around the globe.
Our Democratic Experiment is complex, and it would be frivolous to not consider our current state a motif that arose when we founded the country. Our original sin to not extend Liberty to all inhabitants is the reason we have not been able to embody the words enshrined in the Constitution.

For all the progress we have fought and shed blood for, we find ourselves having more similarities with our Framers that when we were United to defeat the Third Reich.
To put blame on one party does not give it justice. This has been at minimum a three decades crusade from powerful donors with an agenda that seeks to take America back to the time when the ink in the Constitution was still drying. Even then, the colonists rejected the Constitution as it originally was. The states agreed to be part of the compact only after a compromise to add the Bill of Rights was promised.
It is not from a lack of foresight from our previous generations to rein in the consolidation of power of one branch over the others. The Constitution contains instructions on the various ways checks and balances should be enforced by the three branches of Government. What they did not predict was the United States of America choosing an incompetent President after the country took on the responsibility to be the Leader of Democracy. The global repercussions will be felt for decades to come.
Two hundred and fifty years later the temptation to take a bite of the Forbidden Fruit in all three branches of Government was too tantalizing to resist for the Republican Party.…

“Call to Action”
Every eligible voter is duty bound to register to vote this upcoming November Midterm Election. We cannot afford to let an unqualified candidate win due to low voter turnout. Ignore those that claim your vote will not make a difference. Several states have gone out of their way to re-district their congressional maps since the 2024 Presidential elections. Some state’s determination to undermine their constituent’s voting power have led to unprecedented actions such as, halting their midterm primary elections after ballots have already been submitted in order to yield a more favorable outcome to the party that controls the state legislature.
Suppression is the name of the game and the patriots who vote are the referees that will get to determine when a player needs to be substituted for another candidate.
Regardless of the values one feels should govern the country, Kindness and Respect towards one other are non-negotiable. There are more traits that unify rather than divide us.

The American Dream isn’t exclusive, nor is it out of reach because of X, Y, and Z.
X= “immigration”
Y= “socialism/communism”
Z= (insert grievance) “it’s ever evolving”

The American Dream is a concept that defines the soul of the nation.

Hate will never prevail because Love has the power to unite different factions under one goal, to preserve our unalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Our mom instilled in us the importance of voting in every election. We continue her legacy and honor her by doing our part as citizens in this Democratic experiment we call home 🇺🇸

Happy Heavenly Birthday Mommy Dearest 🤍 You would have turned 48 years old today. Not a day goes by that I wish I could hear you tell me how much you love me one more time and me reply to you, “I love you to infinity ♾️”.
