Follow me! One day I’ll have an epiphany and solve the hard problem of consciousness. My revelation will come as I watch my 3 kids grow up, nourished by the food and joy my salary provides. Current job: postdoc @siegellab 🔬🧑‍💻 Working Memory.

The global neuronal workspace (GNW) is currently the best documented neuroscience mechanism by which conscious processing arises in the human brain — and now Anthropic researchers have discovered a similar workspace inside their large language model ! www.anthropic.com/research/glo...

New paper out in @cp-neuron.bsky.social 🎉 What determines contextual modulation in V1? Why does the visual surround sometimes facilitate and sometimes suppress a neuron's response to its preferred stimulus?

Temporal order in vision can be rewritten. A brief visual mask can reverse the perceived order of sequential stimuli—even without spatial overlap—suggesting a fast temporal signal anchoring visual updating. Full story here: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Are you #Coayne2026? Wanna know how we can have a common notion of state in mind and machines and find them in an unsupervised fashion with temporal embeddings based on dynamic similarity check @armanbehrad.bsky.social and @maxschwabe.bsky.social’s poster today, 3-001!

🚨 🆕 Preprint 🚨 How does the brain represent natural images? Using MEG + multivariate analysis, we disentangle contributions of retinotopy, spatial frequency, shape, and texture Together, our results reveal how visual features jointly and dynamically support human object recognition. link 👇

🚨 Check out our new preprint 🚨 A novel artifact-robust framework to investigate online effects of transcranial current stimulation (tCS). Further, we test this approach in an MEG study 🧲🧠 and find neural interaction between tCS and flickering visual stimulation. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Check out our work led by Katrina Quinn, showing that neural representations of abstract choice aren't just due to a requirement to flexibly & rapidly switch between choice-motor mappings. This points to a general role of abstraction in decision-making. #neuroscience www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
