I was born '53 & it never entered the discussion at home, with friends or at school that we would not continue in education if we wanted. Far from a middle class household - though Mum was a pharmacist my Dad was a wool sorter made redundant 3 times.

I am a WASPI woman whose SP date was delayed by almost 4 years but despaired round some of the rhetoric. My time at Uni must have been an illusion. It didn't even work for my mum's generation as she had a professional qualification & occupational pension!

I campaign for better care for dementia as a former family carer & this speech makes me feel very emotional. However as a group we committed heavily to reform social care in Scotland. There were flaws in the proposals but the politicking & self interest of certain groups stopped it.☹️

On that basis noone will ever make bold decisions. I am a pensioner who has benefited from triple lock but also worry about young people & child poverty so it needs review. I don't think anyone is saying pensions will be cut or that there won't be some mechanism for increasing pensions🤔

Nor me. Born in England & Mum was english (born in England of english parents. Dad was born in England but his Mum was scottish (going back generations) & regarded himself as english. I have lived in Scotland since the age of 10 & prefer to describe myself as scottish! And who cares!

As a scot I tune out too! I am no republican but I hate to see damaged people damaging other people. I worked in mental health & saw how it affected people. Sometimes we should keep our counsel or discuss such things in private.

Is this news? My mum was a pharmacist & always said that people often end up on multiple drugs treating side effects of side effects! Mum would have been 97 if she were still alive! Ask your pharmacist!

Reform rewrites history. Braverman talks about the last government as if it was nothing to do with her ( collective responsibility?). Yesterday various reform spokespeople said the party was only 18 months old. So what was the reform party which stood at the last general election?🤔

Evidently NF said that parliament will sit 6 days a week 24 hours a day if necessary to pass legislation🤔 Given it appears he spends very little time there now despite being elected it would be interesting to see how much time he actually would spend there in that scenario!
