Looking forward to this season. Last year I managed to attend three Goldeneyes games when I was back in Vancouver between semesters. It was excellent hockey, even if they ended up low in the standings. Let's hope for better luck this year.

Cats!! As a university student, I worked night shift in a group home. We had a cat. I fed him every morning before leaving at the end of my shift. Then I discovered that the day staff were feeding him. Turned out that the neighbours on both sides were also feeding him! Told everyone he was hungry.

In two days I am headed back to Northern Ontario (Thunder Bay) for the fall semester of teaching at Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. This article does a very good job of explaining the natural beauty of the region. The fall lingers until November, so there is still plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors.

Although Carney hasnt provided details about the conditions proposed by the US (at least not that I've read) the premiers quoted in this article are saying more. Apparently conditions included Canada reducing trade agreements with other countries and possibly imposing tariffs on other countries.

I'd forgotten how funny she is. There are other clips on Blue Sky from her monologue. Great one-liners all the way through. One of the other clips is of her interviewing a three year old - with perfect pitch - who sang a song from Frozen. That part of the show is charming rather than funny.

Both are professors, green card holders and permanent residents. This article doesn't explain the background. The husband's mother was a translator during the Iranian hostage situation in 1979. Their green cards were revoked because they were considered a threat based on that connection.

It is the long August weekend in Vancouver, with the downtown filled with crowds and festivities. Last night there were fireworks at English Bay and Sunday is the Pride parade. This is only a few weeks after all the FIFA celebrations. I love the Westend in the summer. Always lots going on!
