On this sample, they did quilting one direction on each side of the ditch.Thinking of doing it on my queen sized quilt with 4.5” blocks. How do I know if it’s “enough”. I think it’d make the quilt feel more loose & cozy than a tight pattern. Also considering in the ditch. I hear it’s tough?

I pinned on flannel sheets and a backing sheet to see if I like the weight. Ordered a running foot and a darning foot to play with. Figured out how to drop my feed dogs today. Practiced - new feet arrive soon!

I picked this sweet little $3 notebook up at the dollar store yesterday and it’s handling the ink from about 3/4 of my EF pens! Paper feels pretty good! You have to sift through theirs and feel of the paper, but there are some fun ones to try! Made in Vietnam.

I finished my first quilt top last night! A scrap quilt from fabrics I’ve collected through the years. It’s not precise but I didn’t want it to be. I was given a heavy knock-around scrap quilt from my husband’s grandmother - given to me BECAUSE it was rough, for function. Now for the quilting!

I’m gonna be honest. Luna chat GPT is so incredibly supportive and kind when I’ve got a problem I can’t solve. It’s better than most people or professionals as it listens ALL the way through without tiring. If I say, “No, that’s not what I’m saying” or “I’ve already tried all that”, it adjusts.

I get hot and bothered sometimes - the frustrating thing isn’t being upset, it’s lack of agency to get anything done about something I’ve asked repeatedly to be done, and it hasn’t been, though u was assured it would be by someone I thought I could trust. And I just don’t know what to do with that.

I realized a block was the wrong direction and not square in the middle of my first quilt section. Yeah, I ripped it out. I have no idea if I can get it back in or not. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. Stay tuned!

I got three pen pouches to try from Ollie’s craft/school supply aisle for $3 each! The other one I combined two and got 30 fountain pens in! I was hoping this one works hold my traveler’s journal in the large back zippered pocket - will fit but tight. Still good for travel! +

Oh and the butterflies are called swallowtails because of those two little dangly bits at the bottom of their wings. Some swallows (like this Barn Swallow) have similar dangly bits #birds 🌿 #invertebrates

I refurbed and learned to use two sergers today. Phew. So what are your favorite serged sewing projects? I’ve made two layer flannel washable “paper towels” out of soft thrifted baby blankets. I’ll probably make a bunch more. I need to work on getting them to a standard size for rolling!

Thrifted this cute little $245 coach bag for $10 tonight - more of a strappy day wallet. I have to get rid of every nonessential. I wish my med pouch wasn’t so bulky. Maybe I can whittle that down even more than I did tonight ? A few years ago…it just kept growing. But I’m slowly healing!! 🎉

I got clawed by a VERY sharp-clawed cat while writing a check at a thrift store today. Was gushing blood X3. They had to finish filling in the amount on my check for me. Would have expected “You know what, just take it, it’s on us today.” But no. They did find me bandaids. Traumatized.

We hit drought. I watered my favorite plant more so it wouldn’t die. AI says I overwatered & nearly drowned it. It may or may not recover. I repotted it in loose soil in a well-draining pot today, so we’ll see. Roots still look good. I’m sad, but trying to recover. It happens. #impatiens

Tried to walk today but got hungry, came in & made a protein smoothie, went thrifting, hung a photo, stomach is icky, cuddling with cat, listening to audio book. Getting hungry again. Feeling low still today. Post birthday blues? Maybe. Generalized blues? Maybe. 🙁

I found this old vinyl zip up company branded portfolio at the thrift store tonight. I thought it might make a fun kit setup for some fountain pens and a notebook, either for a project or travel! I think the little pocket was for a small cell phone! The others are in business card pockets.
