Our new Year 13s took part in a second workshop with Jo Berry, whose powerful story of reconciliation after the loss of her father in the 1984 Brighton bombing inspired students to explore what it means to be a changemaker and turn a problem into a positive force for change.

My heart goes out to everyone grieving the loss of Ann Widdecombe. Having lost my own father, Conservative MP Sir Anthony Berry, to terrorism I know a little of the impact. Let us reject hatred, choosing compassion over hostility, unity over division and always dialogue rather than violence.

In the last three years at Borderlands we have brought together conversations with victims and ex-combatants from different sides. It was a huge privilege last night to host Jo Berry CBE and Pat Magee last night at the Black Box.

I am thrilled to be speaking with Pat Magee on Friday the 16th of May in London. Still tickets left, I will talk about what happens when we demonise people, that’s how Pat could kill my Dad. Seeing humanity in others is way to create peace. www.eventbrite.ie/e/jo-berry-a...

Exceptional inspirational morning with young people in Lurgen, who asked me such deep thoughtful questions. Then they worked on their vision for a more just peaceful world, sharing their ideas with such wisdom and intelligence. The feedback was profound and touched me deeply. #RJweek
