One cat was vomitting up cat grass last night and is now fine. But the other was feeling left out to threw up on the rug and my slippers this morning…

Me: “finally I can have a relaxing evening” My cat: “I’ve thrown up in 3 different rooms”

He has no ideas other than ‘if you think I’m bad, these guys must be worse so vote for me’ which is terrible when you’re losing support in multiple directions

I get that Conservatives aren’t thrilled about left-wing politics but the Green-bashing backfired and the AfD are an actual threat to the country so…

I find the whole ‘Linke scare’ thing quite weird considering they ran Thuringia fairly normally, were the junior partner in Berlin and other states before and many of the worst elements since left to BSW (who CDU had no problem aligning with)

"Everyone wants to be left-handed these days!" screams Dave. "In my day, we used to cane people for getting fancy ideas about themselves. Left-handedness? Just an excuse for having bad handwriting." adds Steve

Agreed. That ‘reputable poll’ that had Harris +3 in Iowa on the eve of the 2024 election that was out by about 12 points…

I am scarred by that Iowa poll in the 2024 Presidential election that was so unbelievably wrong

I think about this here. People will vote AfD in local or state elections where they think it doesn't matter too much, then switch to whoever is closest to beating AfD at a federal election because they don't actually want the racists running the entire country.

I always recommend the exhibition at Nordbahnhof too. As someone with a curiosity in DDR logistics I found it fascinating.

We have an app for our long-term parking. But the website and app have different log-in protocols and don't connect to each other. But at least it's now ANPR and our plate is recognised. I had to help a very confused old couple in a different car park who had notes (coins only) and no app.

What my work email client flags as spam: emails from my boss, my Director, international collaborators. What is not flagged as spam: japanese kitchen knives, anti-fungal pills, endless predatory conferences and journal enquiries

Isn't Politico a Springer publication now? "Edgy contrarian, lets mock the left" takes that inevitably lead to "the fascists might not be so bad" is the usual direction (see Welt in Germany)

Here in Germany the Putinists took the Presidency and soon will take the Governmental leadership in a State where Russia attempted to launch a terrorist attack against its Airport. Even when ruled as a threat to the constitution. Checks and balances?

My fear remains not that the AfD takes power by winning an election here in Saxony in 2029, but the CDU decides its easier than compromising in their minority coalition with SPD and align with the AfD instead mid-term, and the aftermath is a chaotic fragmentation of anti-AfD options.

The centre-right in much of Europe doing the "we are polling in the high teens despite going off to the right because we're being punished for being too left-wing when in government" strategy while never being challenged on the fact you need an electoral majority to govern.
