We have contanters cos my husband couldn't pronounce decanter. From the kids we had heliclopplers, hobbitals, sammiches and mymite. PS Enjoy the eat anything phase, it is usually followed by around 5 years of extremely narrow range food choices, mostly centred on chips, rice or pasta.

Would sure beat that early morning flight to Wellington (night owl me hates getting up at 5am) or going the night before & paying for a hotel. I went Auckland to Wellington return on Silver Star & Silver Fern as a teenager and still remember it fondly.

Raising the age is detrimental to groups with lower than average life expectancy & those doing harder manual labour. Means testing higher income earners just adds a layer of bureaucracy & cost that will affect all. Tax can deal with this. Compulsory Kiwisaver affects lower income earners the most.

I got 11/15 but had seen them all before. Mostly just looking at whether it was chicken or beef (some very hard to tell) then whether it was with rice, potatoes or pasta so that gave me about 3 options to choose from, then I guessed. They were all disgusting & some genuinely turned my stomach.

Chlöe Swarbrick gives an almighty summation of the current governing coalition’s record. Her speech, given as parliament closes for the election, also outlines why the @greens.org.nz need to lead the next government… the video is well worth your time. #nzpol

The toddler ones without pedals are called balance bikes. Pushbike used to be a very common term for a 2 wheeler bicycle (with pedals) but I don't hear it so often now, mostly just bike or bicycle.

I first saw RHPS when I was at Teachers College in about 1976. Later went to a couple of midnight showings at the Hollywood Cinema in Avondale, dressed as Magenta. Saw the stage show twice. Have watched the film too many times to count. Could say I'm a bit of a fan. youtube.com/shorts/K7Ftz...

Interesting. I get migraines preceded by visual disturbances (aura, holes in vision) then either no headache or mild one-sided headache unless I move suddenly. I feel wiped out for a couple of days after. They are often triggered by stress/sensory overload.

I have also encountered this both at schools and my previous workplace. Most happy to change once it was pointed out. There are many beautiful non-Christian karakia and we should be using those unless in a church or Christian school. I love when karakia are specifically chosen for the occasion.

I really hear you! I went through a time in my life where a number of horrible things happened to myself and people I loved in very short succession. Well-meaning people tried to tell me these things made me stronger, as though it was a good thing I went thru that. I just wanted to slap them.

Waikato Hospital is a nightmare for parking on a good day. Tradies need to think about the already stressed patients who are in danger of missing appts that took months to get. Some reduced to tears in the carpark cos of not finding a park despite arriving 30mins before the appt - ask me how I know.

What possible reason could there be to push infectious kids into packed classrooms? I have the Official Information Act (OIA) records which show how political obsession with attendance targets, pushed via the Ministry of Education and David Seymour, overrode basic public health precautions. /5

I have it in my STEAM library. I enjoyed Planet Crafter - a terraformation game with inventory & crafting setups, uses drones not conveyors. Now playing Eden Crafters - seems like a cross bet Planet Crafter & Satisfactory - conveyors & automated crafting with terraformation as the ultimate aim.

I worked in quite a few schools in the 1st 3 years of Covid. Schools were provided with some good air purifiers but not enough for every classroom. I often found them turned off or placed in areas like reception areas. Was the exception rather than the rule to find them in a classroom & turned on.
