I am at that point in my food journey where I am driving food off to the woods, throwing rocks at it, and tearfully telling it to run away because I don’t love it anymore.

I believe that part of being an attorney is being active in your local community as a leader, a mentor, or a volunteer. For the past three years, I have served on my local school board and am running for re-election again this year. 🧵

Spent the morning doing sound for an MLK day event—clips from his final speech laid on top of a piano arrangement of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” After hearing the original, we had speakers reading the excerpts in Spanish and Creole. Despite the weather we had over 50 attendees.

Lots of thematic overlap between The Sympathizer and Say Nothing. Regret, remembrance, and disillusionment with the promise of revolution/rebellion versus the reality. Recommend both (and the series adaptations as well) highly.

Finished “Say Nothing,” by Patrick Radden Keefe about the troubles in Ireland. Two surprise takeaways: 1) as an Irish American I had completely bought into the mythos of Gerry Adams, and 2) completely failed to appreciate the involvement of women in the Provisional IRA.
