So... The VOP development has stalled a bit again. Mostly as I try to learn to code myself. And also, because a new focus of efforts in the reverse engineering is a stripped down project I call PAniCam. Like the VOP, this will be fully destructive, but focuses only on being an Animation Camera.

Unfinished or not. They were the movies he released and the movies the history books describe. Trying to change that is historical revisionism. Trying to hide it is just lying about the past. Release special editions if you want. But don't try to make us think they were what was seen originally.

I remember the brief era of "flat screen TVs"... Where it would be a CRT.. Still just as big thick and bulky. But the front where the image was drawn was as flat as they dared make the vacuum tube.

If you are looking for ray-trace errors and rendering flaws. Then you will get fooled by newer and newer models, because that' not how AI does its image generation. It doesn't do meshes and simulations. It's more like, "I see noise, it should be goat. I make it goat."

This here skit aired 1991. The Doors disbanded 73, that's 18 years before. We are now in 2026. An equally 'vintage" band for us would have disbanded in 2008 This potential The Doors fan is way closer to The Doors than he is to us. I don't know how to handle that fact. youtu.be/5xillqqt0Y0

close... but not exactly what I wanted... hm... need to sleep on this one. I have some thoughts on how the uneven top could be done. But that thought involves 3D shapes. Which the #VOP cannot do.

Just realized that a famous early 90s title sci fi action sequence was done with a technique very similar to the one in Superman (1978). Initial test here with just a holdout matte and an outline matte is very promising but I need to get back home so I can remove the glow filter from the VOP...

I remember studying webdesign, and it was a brand of honor to make webpages that loaded in seconds on a 56k modem. Jpegs can be very small indeed when optimized correctly and destined for 800x600 crt screens.

You know. I am still such a smalltimer in the business of the social medias and content creation that whenever I see follower or subscriber count go down, I kind of wish there at least was the common courtesy of a dramatic exit so I knew what pushed the person over the edge. I want to know.

Oh, I hadn't looked at RenPy myself for the last few years. Didn't know they went the dark way of vibecoding. That's sad to hear. But I guess someone can fork the older one to continue developing without the tainted code. It'll be fun to follow your project for the progress anyway.

Is it a RenPy project or mayhaps a more custom thing? Visual Novels have long intrigued me, but I guess the strong association they have with lewd h****i products makes me hesitate to dive too deep.
