My wife and I shot 6 rolls of film in our only trip to Ireland with the automatic exposure accidentally off and ended up with pictures that look like they were taken in a closet. It was not awesome.

When I was growing up, I was only ever allowed to watch PBS (and sometimes Saturday morning cartoons). Mostly on a little 12 inch B&W TV we had in the den. This show (Connections) and NOVA were two of my favorite shows during this time. Little wonder I chose a science career I suppose.

I wish I could like this 1000 times. We bought every book my boys wanted growing up. The rule was no movie unit you read the book. My oldest (then 8) wanted to watch Jurassic Park. Decided to to read the book to watch the movie. Still reads. Love this.

Was walking my dog today and went by the local grocery store. Lovely woman came out and was struggling with her packages and was walking home (aside: walkable neighborhoods rule). She had TWO pork shoulder roasts so I carried them home for her. We had a lovely chat but sad to miss her Easter lunch.

Was at a packed Spotted Cat music club one night and saw Judy Greer at the bar. We both bought a Miller High Life and agreed it was indeed the champagne of beers. Those were the only words we said to each other. Photo bombed a pic she took with someone else at the club. Wish I had that photo.

My younger son is writing his senior college thesis on corvid (crows, ravens, jays) co-evolutionary adaptation living among humans and how they can use human infrastructure to survive in the environment better. He has taught me just how cool crows are. This is a fascinating study.

My sons (21 and 24) are two of the greatest humans I know. Wife is out of town so they came over and we made dinner and had wine and they remain two of the greatest humans I know. I feel so lucky. Holding the people I love most close to me is helping get me through this trying time.
