There is a big enough market for a company to make a profit on them. Legacy auto was simply too greedy and wanted the fat margins instead of the smaller margins. Legacy auto chose greed and speed the "Americans only want big" lie.

The robo taxi thing is great for urban/suburban, but for small town rural, a lot of us still need vehicles. At least until we invest in public transit like some of the European countries, like when pigs fly. But maybe someday.

I just wanted to clarify. It was great that Pres. Biden's policies stimulated construction of facilities related to new energy vehicles and tech. And it's sad that we've lost so many that were in progress thanks to the Heritage dictatorship and Project 2025 (Trump is just a puppet).

Walz did the hardest thing ever. A lot of us wanted him to order Nat'l Guard between the protesters and ICE. A lot of us wanted a confrontation. But he knew Trump wanted a reason to declare Martial Law. Walz showed restraint under pressure. It took guts to fight off his anger, to not enable Trump.

Legacy auto made their choices to intentionally let it happen. I feel for the auto workers, but the UAW watched and apparently chose or decided they couldn't stop the corporate suicide.
