Good to know…it is a shame that measles has to be a concern. You are right about the dentists especially since PA seems to be so rife with cases-all or almost all instances being preventable with something so easily obtained. Awful..

Now I have to fill out a questionnaire about whether I am experiencing rash, fever and runny nose-for a dental appointment. Born before 1957 so I supposedly have presumptive immunity. And now pneumonic plague has been reported in Siberia..hope they don’t find that antibiotics cause autism.

What a magical show. Some of it kind of corny. The Gorn was hysterical. "Earthling, I grow weary of the chase. Show yourself, and your death shall be merciful and quick." The interaction between the main crew was priceless. McCoy and Spock. Warp nine Mr Scott..I miss the optimism that was expressed.

University of the Arts: Board members, etc took the money and ran. Students were left without a teach-out year. Many had already signed leases in anticipation of the fall semester. Professors also relocated and bought houses, signed leases. Over 700 employees and over a thousand students displaced.

Like losing a second father. He would bust my chops (esp after the third glass of wine) and we could talk about Beethoven, Ellington, Einstein, history. There was a whole group at that time that would gather together-argue and laugh, etc-all gone now. For me...no more booze...miss the conviviality.

He was-loosing him was difficult. Severe headache-dr said take Benadryl-I told him F that go to the ER. Uncharacteristic severe pain. Hour later, VM. "Hey John, I'm in the Emergency Room." Stayed with him until pictures were taken and pain management was administered. Last time he was himself.

I was reading "adult" books when I was a child. Ancient civilizations, science, history. We had a huge library and then there were my favorites from the library. Paleontology-the way things were in the primeval oceans..all fascinating...the Pharaohs-the Papyrus of Ani...the Sumerians..on and on..

He had some good years of hanging out, drinking wine and arguing with Republicans (he never hesitated to call out people's bullshit) before dying of an AVM...at 89. Self taught about so many subjects, master carpenter for 50 years.

My friend Nick (deceased) had an adenocarcinoma of his upper left lobe. They treated it with a lobectomy and a follow up of radiation. He did have a recurrence and they treated it with radiation which did not cause him any discomfort.
