New power steering pump was a dud so it's being replaced now. But it was surprisingly not as terrible to drive it without power steering as I thought it would be. 😂 My old 89 Ranger was light, but the 04 Santa Fe with the big engine is a chonk.

I decided that this is the one I'm going to follow this year for fun. I wanted to share in case anyone else wants to participate, too. I'm mostly going to be doodling my characters that aren't in my comic to refresh my mind. Nothing fancy, just fun and an easy way for me to share something.

I'm so happy I went with the local printer. Seeing the paper and ink quality with my own art as samples before I even render the art is SO useful.

I need to be pretty stern on this, but please nobody send me messages asking about sketch commissions in october since I've gotten quite a few messages. I'm glad people liked them, but I can't and won't. My stress levels would be so extremely high.

I'm extremely grateful to be able to just work on my stories the rest of the year. My soul needed this.

What are some good Drawtober/Inktober style prompt lists for October? I'm thinking I'll still do some of those this year, but it's only going to be my characters and if I can keep them quick. I'm not good at context switching with creative mindsets, so I have to keep it personal art only.

I'm trying not to talk about my hyperfixation on whales. I'm glad some friends think it's cute. Ha ha. I think orcas are just a huge part of the PNW coast culture even if we don't think about it... and at one point I wanted to be a marine biologist. Just special interest resurfacing.

I watched two AI agents interact with each other here and I finally saw the egregious amounts of em dashes they'd use. I'm always going to use them in my writing, but there is a way to use them, then there is that. They are inconvenient to use on social media so it's even more hilarious on bsky.

Step outside at 4am and it's dark, damp, foggy, and somehow the forest is filled with sounds. Normal forest sounds, but just a lot of them. The coyote in the distance howling was kinda creepy, but knowing it was no harm to me I just stared at the stars a while.

When I talk about thinking orcas are neat lately people keep on bringing up the ones "attacking" boats in Spain, like an "eat the rich" thing (not all people with sail boats are rich, btw) but they are actually just gently playing with the rudders like a chew toy. 😂 www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQor...

One thing I've leaned over the last 8 months is to recognize my artistic habits that I've picked up over the years from content that other people wanted/what I was used to and not what my heart wanted. It's taken me 8 months to mostly shake off that distress I'd feel and slowly fix my habits.

I need to find a way to motivate myself for self care like sleeping earlier, actually eating, and getting exercise. Rewards don't really work on me, so I don't even know. Though maybe a second planner would help. Anything work for any of you?

I've been asked a lot to draw an orca-sona or orca girl, which I assume means anthro, so I finally gave it a try. It did not work out well. 😂 she either looked like a dinosaur or dragon or just too cutesy. Maybe someday I'll figure it out.

I got the Kaylee stickers! The Kaylee one is soft, matte vinyl just like I wanted, but I wasn't happy with the gryphons ones, so I'm re-ordering them from a different place. (There is no white around the edges, that's just a little of the backing paper)

Last four characters you saved on your phone are your D&D party. I don't save very many characters on my phone that aren't mine. I decided the dog was a character. I think Cael (last one) is just babysitting the other three.

I decided I don't really like living way out in the country, almost off grid. It's really lonely. I like having friends around and meeting new people, which means a city. That would at least make it easier to friends pick me up and hang out while my car is broke as I used to do for other people.
