Since today marks the premiere of “The Twilight Zone”, figured I’d watch the season 2 episode “Eye of the Beholder”. It’s one of the first that I can recall watching and the ending hooked me on the series. So many masterpieces throughout the series.

For night 2 of Spooky Season: the 1948 classic “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein”. I think it’s their best film. A fun way to relax on this Friday.

A funny and apropos of Spooky Season “The Far Side” for this Friday.

A werewolf attacking a man firing a gun. The man is remembering how the salesman who sold him the “silver” bullets, earlier that day, was wearing the same shirt and tie as the werewolf. The salesman is recalled saying “Oh, yes! I guarantee these bullets are pure silver.” The word “guarantee” is underlined for emphasis.

Went to my LCS and it was a light pickup since I don’t really buy new comics as much as I used to. Though, I did pick up these two tpbs for some quality reading material.

Two trade paperback books. The one one the left reprints stories from “The Amazing Spider-Man” and has Hulk giving Spider-Man a bear hug as Spider-Man punches him with his left fist, while The Avengers are coming towards them.

The book on the right shows The Thing, Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Captain America, Thor, The Human Torch, and Doctor Strange fighting Galactus.

Tonight’s feature film: “Libeled Lady” (1936) starring Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy. Stellar cast with amazing chemistry amongst them. This blu-ray edition is a gift from my brother. Definitely great to have a physical copy; especially since it’s unavailable to stream.

It’s #SquareboundSaturday! To wind down the celebration of Jack Kirby, I’ll showcase my copy of “The Hunger Dogs”, which was Kirby’s finale to The Fourth World, though DC wouldn’t let him do it how he wanted to. Still, the completist in my was happy to learn of this book and obtain a copy.
