I love having new covers done for series. I love being "wide" and published on a variety of vendors. BUT. But. AUTHOR MATH. 11 books in series. 5 major retailers. 4 distribution points for audio. 2 library distribution points. 11x5 plus 4x - {ignores Vellum and finds something to clean}

So, it turns out I might be Canadian! How's that for timing? My grandfather was born in BC and I've tried for the last decade or so to claim Canadian citizenship. Waiting for IRCC to make a decision, as the Bjorkquist court cases changed so much about second-generation folks.

I'm shipping book orders using PirateShip and the geek in me LOVES the visualization mapping they do. The symmetry! AHHHHHHH!

Map showing shipment line from Boston, Massachusetts directly horizontal to Oregon for a shipment author Julia Kent is making to a reader who ordered books.

Anyone else have that super weird book idea you shelved because someone else <hard stare at my author friend> told you it wouldn't fly? I'm writing it. Screw it. Here comes what she calls my "dead dog rom com."

Haven't been to an in-person conference since 2019. 2024 Virtual RAM was great. Pleasantly surprised I wasn't sold courses - the speakers were actual speakers and not turning me into someone in their sales funnel. Great talks on mindset, direct sales, etc. Nice to feel connected to ideas again.

This is how we protect all kids in school, but especially medically complex/immunocompromised kids. Mine is forced to homeschool because MA schools aren't implementing standards like this. What a gift this would be here.

Rotech just delivered my 15 yo's new O2 concentrator, O2 backup tank, and new pulse oximeter. A huge thanks to the delivery dude who wore a KN95 when asked and provided. Yes, I'm writing his boss a nice note! It really can be this simple to help protect people who ask. #covidcautious

I adore this graphic. It’s an analysis of the people on my newsletter list. My newsletter reaches readers in ALL 50 states and 124 countries. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOUR COUNTRIES. That’s about two-thirds of THE ENTIRE WORLD. juliakent.substack.com/p/what-being...

What being a "wide" author means

and I don't mean my size ;)
