Hello, everyone. Here’s my very small antenna and counterpoise. I’m always amazed by FT8. It’s incredible that even with equipment set up by an amateur like me, I can make contact with people not only in Japan but all over the world. #FT8

It looks like the approaching typhoon will make portable operation difficult this weekend, even though I was looking forward to it. So, I’m heading to a nearby POTA park for a quick session before the rain starts...☁️🏞️📡🌦️ ＃POTA

Today, I operated using FT8 from POTA site JP-1303, Tsukayama Prefectural Park. This is the site of the grave of William Adams—an Englishman who became a samurai—known in Japan as Miura Anjin. The occasional cool breeze and the weary sunlight evoked the feeling of autumn—a season I love.😙 ＃POTA

This was the first time I had an image created using Gemini. It was a lot of fun watching the creation process—with three arms and bright red skin, for example. I’m not 100% satisfied, but as a memento of my first one...

The first POTA activation in 2025 was not very good. At 21mhz, I suffered from computer malfunctions and high SWR values, and even at 7mhz (FT8 frequency for Japan) it was not good enough. Well, I guess there are days like this. This year I'm thinking of trying the lower mountains of CW and SOTA.🙇‍♂️
