It’s the same as paying taxes for public transportation. Just because ‘you’ don’t use the bus, should we give you a voucher for an Uber or a taxi🚕 so as to keep the buses 🚌 competitive?

I see that you want your kids to go to private school while the rest of the taxpayers pay for the vouchers they would need. Quite understandable. So why not just close down all the public schools and give every child a voucher to attend the private school of their choice? That’s be fair for all.

You do have school choice. You can choose a public school to send your child to or pay for your child’s tuition at a private school.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. The private schools have abused the voucher system with the rich using them instead of the needy. Why should private schools receive government funding for competing against public schools? Private schools could offer scholarships to the needy.
