Exhibit A of sports-washing:

Jinwoo Park @jinwoo-park.com · 14/06/2026

So I posted a clip from Seoul Queer Parade 2026 on my story and wrote 쩔어 over it. Few then asked me if I hated it because the auto-translator was translating it that way. It's a super basic slang meaning absolutely dope. 쩔어, 쩐다, 쩌네 etc As in the BTS song 쩔어 This is why we need translators.

Puerto Ricans fought in the Korean War, and Koreans should not forget that.

I never imagined that my book, which is so unapologetically Korean, would be marked in the tapestry of Canlit. In fact, the longlist is so multicultural this year. And in times like this, when immigrant communities are being assaulted everywhere, this really shows the cultural leadership of Canada.

With this swift illegal stroke against Venezuela and Maduro, the US made its position clear: might is right. And that is not good for anyone.

It's pub day in Canada for Oxford Soju Club. It all began in 2018 as an absurdly cliched action novel that also became my self-therapy. After 5 rewrites, edits, and a TikTok DM from my now-editor, it’s here. Nervous, excited, ready to share my heart. I hope you enjoy meeting Jihoon, Yunah & Yohan.
