Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 16/03/2026At max range it can take up to a whole ass second to kill a motionless training dummy because sometimes over half your bullets just miss for no reason. 100
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 16/03/2026Heavy played at max range is not a threat. It literally can't kill anything at that range. Its accuracy and bullet speed are both pretty abysmal. It is played at mid range because that is the only way it can actually hit people. 110
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 07/03/2026The actual crazy part to me is that the C-Liter was *scoped* when traditional knowledge was that Liter needs the mobility of non-scope to do well 010
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 01/03/2026I get why the AoE buff can seem problematic but have you considered that it also gets directs for free now with how crazy big that hitbox is? 000

Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 13/02/2026Average XP is around 1800 and Inkjet is honestly still pretty crazy well above that. Clash, Kraken, Wavebreaker, and Inkjet form the "The player base is too shitty to buff this" club unfortunately. 000
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 06/02/2026Yeah but certain elevators only go to certain floors. So it can still be an issue 000
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 29/01/2026That they just went and gave the hflick its S1 kill range back is crazy. I've been wanting that for 8.5 years now but they actually did it.. 040
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 28/01/2026Such a bad and unnecessarily rude response. Basically every con curates the den now, but they're usually not dicks about it. 010
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 27/01/2026They technically nerfed the damage radius of its short range mode, but now if it kills multiple people in a row it gets free IA for half a minute so it is kind of a wash imo 020
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 06/09/2025If anyone thinks I'm rich because I have 2 fursuits they are gonna be very disappointed LOL 000
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 22/08/2025Well-implemented aim assist wouldnt break the game's balance. It also wouldn't apply to motion controls. Unlike Japan, people will just go play other shooters when they try to play with sticks and can't hit anything. Big reason why the game sells better in the West but Ranked is dead tbh 000
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 22/08/2025Well, dual sticks is more inclusive for people with conditions that affect the motor skills needed for motion aiming. About 6% of kids have dyspraxia for example. Balanced Aim Assist that makes both sticks *and* motion viable is possible and the ideal tbh 110
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 22/08/2025In general though, Western console shooter players grew up playing with sticks. They've used it their entire lives on a regular basis. So stick controls not being viable is actually the #1 reason I've seen people not stick with Splatoon. In Japan this is most players' first shooter. So not an issue 100
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 22/08/2025When you're trying to attract console shooter players willing to drop $70, you're primarily looking at the people who grew up on CoD and Halo. And in those games sticks > MnK Now, don't add Aim Assist THAT broken. But there are balanced Aim Assist methods that would benefit the Western scene a lot. 100

Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 20/08/2025Motion controls would still be viable for sure It's more about growing the base in the West because it is hard for competitive shooter players to justify practicing a completely different control scheme. Lol 130
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 20/08/2025The end result is Splatoon sells more in West than Japan but it is a much more casual audience that straight up doesn't play Ranked There is hope that 4 will at least add mouse controls and maybe even finally fix stick controls (lololol). Then there is that transferable skill, more appealing then. 130
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 20/08/2025They can't easily get new people because competitive-leaning shooter players in the West don't want to learn motion when nothing else uses it competitively; best option is either mouse or sticks (depends on game, CoD is a sticks game for example). It is a non-transferable skill, not worth it. 1/2 150
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 08/08/2025Nobody to eat unfortunately, could use a snack before lunch tho 010
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 05/08/2025I mean I've been rewatching Digimon but need a good sub of Tamers to come out already ...Am I only watching it for Renamon? Yes, yes I am. But can you blame me? 010
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 05/08/2025Always wanted to be the animal characters but Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is what made me obsessed with the idea. 030
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 04/08/2025Yeah, they used it a bunch because they kept getting bad matchups for Hedit. So they switched between new rapid pro and zap for cooler, sometimes using both at once. Their standard comp is Sblast/Dread/Hedit/Vsplash, they just didn't want to go through with terrible matchups when they could switch 010
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 03/08/2025Nobody who is satisfied with making it into +3 was ever going to become skilled enough because they lack the necessary mindset. As a general rule, Splatoon does not appeal to Western gamers that are actually competitive. That is the fundamental struggle here and there's no easy solution for that. 100
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 03/08/2025Like you'd think Milky Way got absolutely destroyed by the team that got 2nd judging by these reactions but it didn't feel like that to me at all? Idk 020
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 03/08/2025If you look at the actual matches, the West's top teams seemed to primarily just have trouble with closing out close games against tough teams. Something JP just has more experience with. How is getting rid of +3 supposed to address this issue? 220
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 03/08/2025The issue is, the Western audience for Splatoon sees it as a silly fun casual squid game and this is almost entirely Nintendo of America's fault. The Splatoon segment at the Nintendo World Championships 2015 in particular did irreparable damage unfortunately IMO 000
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 03/08/2025There are more Splatoon 3 players in the West than in Japan. We have the sales numbers etc The actual core issue is that your average Western Splatoon player mostly just plays Salmon Run and some Turf War. They might dabble in Ranked but never get past A and have low power too, so Ttek dead AF 100
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 31/07/2025AI can't even give me the correct Elite Four lineups of Pokemon games. Asking it about actually important stuff sounds insane? 010
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 29/07/2025When you view the kits from the lens of, "What if the devs suck at the game?" A lot of the bad kits suddenly make a ton of sense. I mean they're still terrible but you can see why they thought that kit wouldn't be booty. They just don't fully understand their own game. 000
Shiori @jinrou.bsky.social · 29/07/2025The vast majority of the kit designers are likely just bad at the game. For example, both of the Wellstringer kits are perfectly logical through the lens of a bad player. E.g. "You can use Auto bomb to help with shots over cover and hammer to splat people who rush you!" (Spoiler: it doesn't work) 100
