I needed a cheap 5 string bass, ended up settling for a 6 string bass instead, and the neck is a chonker. RIP my hands.

A left handed, blue, headless, 6 string bass.

It's 2:40am on a work day and I'm awake with a lot of thoughts racing through my head. I turn to the words of Khalil Gibran, specifically this excerpt from The Cry of the Graves, Spirit Rebellious.

"I stood there before the graves like a speaker suffering wordlessness while trying to recite a eulogy. I was speechless, but my falling tears substitute for my words and spoke for my soul. My spirit rebelled when I attempted to meditate a while, because the soul is like a flower that folds its petals when dark comes, and breathes not its fragrance into the phantoms of the night. I felt as if the earth that enfolded the victims of oppression in that lonely place were filling my ears with sorrowful tunes of suffering souls, and inspiring me to talk."

I've been sketching random faces, trying to clean the rust away. I might have rambled too much in the alt text.

A rough sketch portrait of a female elf with copper hair and green eyes.

All my rough sketches are done on a dark background, because empty white backgrounds hurt my eyes. Usually 50% black with a hint of teal.

All sketch lines and shades are done with a golden brown color, and highlights are done with light purple color.

Sometimes I add some extra color, in this case a little bit of dark orange and a little bit of green.

Most faces I draw are improvised. I start looking at a face from an image reference, then I look at another. Then I stop looking, and start improvising, the same way I do on a guitar after finding a decent beat.

Luna posing with void cat by @yuumeiart.bsky.social I keep delaying putting it back on the wall because of moments so like this 🤣

No Man's Sky got good years ago, and somehow it keeps getting better.

I could never remember the exact date, but February is the anniversary of the first time I picked up a guitar, and it's been 20 years now. And yes I'm left handed. I look forward to finishing and releasing new music this year but in the mean time. youtube.com/channel/UCD-...

I started this early January and wanted to finish before her graduation but here we are, I finished it a few days ago. But hey, it's the first full illustration I've made since mid 2023. #digitalart #procreate #FineFaunart

My partner once binged the entirety of classic She-Ra, she's a fan of cheesy old cartoons. She wanted to see my take on the titular character, so I made this in 2022. #digitalart #procreate

I made this in 2021, and I remember I was pretty much running on fumes at this point. It was around this time that I had to pivot to doing graphic design full time. I don't hate my current job, but I miss making art. I'm slowly coming back to it though. #digitalart #procreate

In 2023 I thought it would be a good idea to start drawing vtubers. I started with Ina, then stopped because it was more complicated than I thought, but maybe I'll do some more in the future. #digitalart #procreate #inART

While I rarely make fully rendered illustrations these days (I haven’t done a single one this year), I still sketch, somewhat consistently. Most don’t see the light of day, half the time because I don’t like them, half the time because I forget they exist. Can't even remember when I did this. #art

A few years ago I made this logo for my fiance, who runs a small TNR and rescue initiative for cats in Kuwait. The situation with strays and pet abandonment there is pretty dire, but I'm proud of her work and proud to have made this for them.
