And sometimes you smile... like this week when I'm proofreading 'Flight of the Stolen Children'. All the crazy hours you keep, the piles of research books, the pacing, running up and down the stairs, drinking coffee, finding an excuse to buy an apple fritter, then two, and finally your book baby comes home.
