Number 3 From the opening track Definitive Gaze it's evident that this is something special. It's like a mixture of Roxy,Bowie,John Barry and The Buzzcocks all mashed into one to create this incredible sound over 3 stunning and very different albums. #5DebutAlbumsFinal

Number 4 The ultimate alternative 2 guitars bass and drums line up. Influenced so many great bands but very few of them surpassed this. The guitars have an almost symphonic quality to them. #5DebutAlbumsFinal

Number 9 Not a New Order fan but I love this...and saw them touring it. I remember the anticipation around this coming out and it was probably the record most Joy Division fans needed at the time. Didn't like the direction they went afterwards but I can understand it. #5DebutAlbumsFinal

Number 16 I'm not a fan of the music of nor the 4 people in U2 but the first album was different. They had a really good old skool Irish post punk sound..and it's still a brilliant record. That being said it'll go no further than this. #5DebutAlbumsFinal

While The Buzzcocks made good albums it was really all about the 7"s. Arguably the greatest singles band ever. The album isn't going to make my final 25. Same with SLF ..great record, especially Johnny Was, but can't fit it in. #5DebutAlbumsFinal

The first album I heard by the Violent Femmes was Hallowed Ground which is a spectacular record. When I then checked out the debut I was really disappointed. It's never done it for me so I'll let it go along with PJ Harvey, Breeders and The Las. #5DebutAlbumsFinal
