Kernel 7.4 boosting AMD iGPU performance is a big win. Apparently by 18-23%... This combined with Gorgon Halo release is going to be amazing for Local LLMs - just need to fix that pricing and availability....

When I bought my 5090 FE at £2000 it was a stupid financial decision. However, it's now looking like a shrewd investment! What an awful time we live in for consumer electronics. The impact of this is going to be far reaching and impact the consumer for years to come.

Well, that's LG onto the boycott list. What a scumbag move and cover up job. Own up and fix it, don't lie! Question is, which other manufacturers are also doing this...

Although the AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ PRO 495 doesn't seem to be much of an uplift from the 395, the bump to 192GB RAM is very welcome! Looking forward to the first commercially available devices.

The Nvidia AI situation is wild, how long can they sustain the illusion through investing in their own subsidiaries/"charities" and back charging? This whole thing is looking like a slow motion car crash.

Transcoding performance on an N150 in an unprivileged LXC is basically native (as expected). I can do ~5 4K transcodes simultaneously 👍

You can put it on the same network and not have to make it externally accessible. Again it's increased security through reduced exposure. Only accessible in docker's own private network.

Jim @jimsgarage.co.uk · 29/03/2026
Own network means you can isolate traffic (more secure)

You can definitely do it via compose and by default it creates a bridge.
