"sunovabitch must pay" Big Trouble in Little China the Boardgame - has that synergy of nostalgic IP and fun Ameritrash gameplay to make something that I will always keep in the collection. It also has a campaign mode and a 5/6 player expansion, but is out of print (for now at least)... #boardgames

Played some more World of Smog: Rise of Moloch yesterday - Sherlock Holmes had murdered Moriarty causing Irene Adler and Colonel Moran to seek his resurrection - sadly for our heroes they were successful and they disappeared back into the criminal underworld... #boardgames #steampunk

Played some more of the Resident Evil board game campaign yesterday, where we took on Neptune (or a giant shark for those not in the know), then had a game of Plum Island Horror - we lost on the last card of the game ehich was a nail-biting, albeit frustrating end to the game! #boardgames

SAS: Rogue Regiment! Essentially tabletop Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines (which was a videogame) - it does one of my favourite things in gaming superbly: sneaking around causing as much mayhem as you can before escaping (a good old Butcher and Bolt)... Which we didn't. Next time! #boardgames

#Fallout: Shelter and Blood Bowl: Team Manager - Both play in about an hour - #BloodBowl can be swingy but it's great fun for fans of the IP - Fallout is an enjoyable but basic worker placement and runs just a little too long for what's on offer - I'd like it better if it was shorter... #boardgames

First game of the new season in the local #bloodbowl league - Carrion Screaming faced their arch Nemeses the Ellyrion Stallions! Managed to play them to a draw, but they only had 4 players left on the field! Luckily there was only 1 MNG - don't want to ruin their season but still enjoy the SPP!

Finally opened Chaos in the Old World - what a fantastic game! Great choices, conflict, player interaction, plus the added draw of the old Warhammer IP - at 2 hours with 5 players it's smooth with minimal downtime and teach. I wasn't sure about buying as an OOP title but glad I did! #boardgames

Dark Pact by @trickortreatgames.bsky.social - the perfect game to replace Dominion in our collection - I wouldn't recommend it as a first-time deck builder as it can be long combo heavy, but is superb for seasoned players. And of course, the theme is a big draw for horror fans! #boardgames

Played the new version of Reichbusters last night - maybe an unpopular opinion but not convinced I prefer it to the original - a lot of the "streamline" has removed the nuance and charm - having said that, vril weapons are now not terrible. Will play a bit more to form a full opinion... #boardgame

2nd game of the #BloodBowl league and my first win! Faced humans this time and was worried in the face of their versatility. The game opened with them charging over the line and catching the ball in my half, but that was where their luck ran out. 2-0 to Carrion Screaming in the end. #boardgames

Played Dark Providence at game night this week - I had a poor experience with A Study in Emerald a long time ago so was a little apprehensive (as this is a reimplantation), but found a tight, tense, enjoyable guesswork co-op that had plenty to keep our interest going even at 5 players. #boardgames

Last night we played Beast! This is the 4th hidden movement game in our collection, and I was worried it wouldn't find a place (or maybe fire one of the others), but does enough differently to keep it in conjunction - the card drafting especially makes for interesting decision space! #boardgames

Kicked off our local #bloodbowl league with a double header, High Elf Vs Necromantic (3-2) and Human Vs Lizardmen (3-3). Can't believe it's taken me 32 years to get it back to the table - had an incredible time of crazy plays (and failures!) and laughter. Excited for my next game! #boardgames

It's been a while, but tonight was Sniper Elite by @rebellionunplugged.bsky.social - an enjoyable and tense hidden movement game that can be played in an hour once you've grasped it. Lost the first game as the sniper (by one move!) but picked up a win with some sneaking and mines! #boardgames

The second shop I tried to find was also gone, but I finally found something worth visiting, the aptly named Wargamer! Great selection of Games Workshop and alikes, and nice to see people having a wargame in the shop! Quite a few ranges I didn't know, so educational at least! 2/2 #boardgames

Next on my European city board game visits - Warsaw! The first I tried to find was supposedly in the catacombs beneath central station, and on my quest I felt transported to a future shock movie of the 70s. As it transpired that was more fun than the destination, but a fitting end! 1/2 #boardgames

Saw DS9 in a banner on BGG and couldn't click fast enough, to find the disappointment of it being a murder mystery/escape room game... Don't get me wrong, happy for you if that's your jam, but I just don't dig it. Was really hoping for some sort of station management game... #boardgame #startrek

Trying LA-1 by @trickortreatgames.bsky.social in prep for game night and this is definitely up my (crime) alley. It has a narrative card system and test/token mechanisms that I really enjoy plus a cyberpunk setting - really enjoyed it, even though one of my defectives was murdered! #boardgames

Updating the 1st ed. tiles from Maximum Apocalypse so they're compatible with Wasted Wilds (I.E. rules clarity and indoor marked), so I don't have to keep referring to a separate list. Common sense? or "what are you doing to that game?!?" It's not perfect but works for me... #boardgame

Second #boardgame shop on my Stockholm trip - Science Fiction Bokhandeln (bookstore). When you enter you'd be forgiven for thinking this shop has no games at all, but tucked away there's a staircase leading to a (very difficult to photograph) area with a great selection of hobby games! 2/2

I travel for work so when I'm able, I visit a #boardgame shop or two in the city - this time, Stockholm. First up, Dragon's Lair - a bright and modern shop with a good selection of trad and hobby boardgames available in both Swedish and English - bonus points for the Swedish designer section! 1/2
