I made Bavarian pretzels today and they turned out great! Remember to "sprinkle the bulge" with salt. I'm excited about these since it was my first time using a lye bath instead of a baking soda bath. Lye is caustic and can burn the skin but it's how Bavarian pretzels get their distinct color

I made some hoagies to make meatballs subs out of the leftover meatballs from pasta night. The sauce and meatballs are so flavorful that the sandwich doesn't need much else. I add provolone as a meaty moisture barrier, but that's it. Best there is west of the Mississippi

I made really good spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was made with garden tomatoes, garlic, celery, carrots, oregano, and basil. So we grew almost everything in it except the onion. Homemade noodles of course. And some homemade sourdough to sop it all up with.

I made cheez-its last night. The recipe needs tinkering but overall I'm happy with them as a proof of concept. They're very crunchy and cheesy. A little too salty though. Might need to use a more mild cheddar next time.

I made creme brûlée donuts. It's a brioche donut filled with fresh vanilla custard and topped with fresh caramel. The caramel cools rapidly when you dip the donut into it causing it to rapidly harden, giving you that creme brûlée crack when you bite into it
