Tonight we stopped in at St. Peter’s cultural center/former church to see the kickoff for the Samhain/Halloween/Dragon of Shandon Parade in Cork.

I’ve taken on a new project in Blackpool for the next month at least and I’m excited to have some new views of Cork.

Here’s another moment from Oxford last night: joggers passing Radcliffe Camera. I’m just spending time with smart people and consuming a lot of info so far. I’ll need a while to really ingest it. Heading back to Cork tomorrow.

Late to this meme and not exactly visionary stuff in the first place except for how many news companies hadn't even started dabbling in 2009: niemanreports.org/a-photograph...
Screenshot of text which reads: Given my online experiences—mixed in with what I know about newspapers—I'm starting to suspect that social media might never work as well for these larger, old media outlets. Social media works well for entrepreneurs, as it does for celebrities and star athletes, because we have complete authority. We direct the endeavor and can be swift and nimble. Those aren't always attributes readily associated with traditional news organizations these days.
