I don’t really game much these days, but if you can get me emotional while playing, over a character rendered like this, I don’t think you really need to have photorealistic people.

Some of these GTA 6 analyses are fucking weird to me
THINGS THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:
• Rob and the team told me that if you see someone walking their dog and the dog does its business, you can wait for the owner to pick it up in a bag, hit them so they drop it, then pick the bag up yourself and throw it at people. That is the level they are going to.YOUR SCIENTISTS WERE SO PREOCCUPIED WITH WHETHER OR NOT THEY COULD...

Sorry, I know I’m petty rooting for England’s opponents, but whenever I see some Scotland and England fans giving it big licks about mutual support if one gets knocked out, this is all I can see in my head.

I absolutely hate LinkedIn posts. Just detest them with a passion.
Who would have thought Ecuador would have beaten
Germany!
Overnight, Scotland's chances of progressing to the next stage of the FIFA World Cup dropped from 42% to 5.26% (BBC).
The reason? Results in matches Scotland weren't even playing didn't go the way they needed.
It's a useful reminder that in business success is rarely determined solely by your own performance.
External factors, competitors and market conditions can also influence the outcome.
But there's an important business lesson here.
The answer isn't simply to "control what you can control."
That's only half the story.
You have to maximise everything that is within your control.
Because if you don't, someone else will.
Businesses that consistently execute better give themselves the best chance of succeeding-especially when circumstances beyond their control don't go their way.
Let's hope Scotland don't have to wait another 28 years before they have an opportunity.

I hate reporting like this. Scotland deserve progress (fwiw, I don’t think we will) if at least four other 3rd-placed teams do worse. It’s as simple as that. I think this 48-team format is stupid but framing it as some form of moral cheatery if you progress by the skin of your teeth is bizarre.

Today in LinkedIn…”employees, on the other hand, are primarily concerned with collecting a paycheck.”
Headline: Sam Altman on why you should take a year off between jobsComments: He is knowledgeable because he invests time in reading and learning. Many employees, on the other hand, are primarily concerned with collecting a paycheck and staying in management's good graces rather than developing a deeper understanding of these issues.

Comments reply: Correct, you have to let go of making a paycheck an idol, of sorts.
Paycheck is what drives the uncertainty.
Some folks can't let go, in their thoughts.
It could also be family members who will panic, as well.
By going this route, you also will learn to buck management.

We can test how unlikely this is with a Poisson distribution (technically not correct, as the probability per tournament differs and isn't that small in many, but it'll overestimate and is easier to whack into a spreadsheet than Poisson-binomial). For λ = 41/24, P(🇧🇷vs🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿≥5) ≈ 3%. (7/9)
Table from a spreadsheet showing each element of building up the Poisson distribution analysis, showing P(🇧🇷vs🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿≥5) ≈ 3%.A second snippet of a spreadsheet with the more robust analysis, showing P(🇧🇷vs🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿≥5) ≈ 1.4%.

So, with each tournament as an independent event (any objections on a postcard), and the probability of drawing Brazil = 1/G, where G is the number of groups, i.e. seeds per pot, E(∑🇧🇷vs🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿) = 1.70833…, which appears to far undershoot the observed value of 5. (6/9)
Handwritten table with a row for each tournament that both Scotland and Brazil qualified, with a chance calculated for each of them drawing one another, the summed.

Jim Ross 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎞 @jimgr.com · 02/06/2026
Terms cancel out based on assumptions, many unfortunately for Scotland: - P(🇧🇷✅) = 1 , Brazil always qualify - No knockout probs as Scotland never made it there - Always different seeding pots; Brazil are always a top team & for geo seeding, last I checked, Scotland isn't in South America (5/9)
Handwritten expression of Bayes Theorem for playing Brazil given Scotland qualifies. After several overwrought substitutions, it just breaks down to the chance they play each other, given both qualify.

I’ve never found the trolley problem an interesting thought experiment if you think about it as an adult for more than two minutes. Meanwhile, on the UK’s Online Safety Act…
But Dame Chi Onwurah, chairwoman of the innovation and technology committee, said she was "concerned and confused" about how the matter is "actually being addressed", and has written to Ofcom and Kendall for clarification.
Dame Chi said it was "unclear" under the Online Safety Act whether the creation of such images using Al was illegal, as was the responsibility of social media sites for what was shared on their platforms."The act should really make something so harmful to so many people clearly illegal, and X's responsibility should be clear," she told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
Caroline Dinenage, chairwoman of the culture, media and sport committee, likewise said she had a "real fear that there is a gap in the regulation"
"There are doubts as to whether the Online Safety Act actually has the power to regulate functionality - that means generative Al's ability to nudify someone's image," she told BBC
Breakfast.Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men, in the sequence where he says “If the rule you followed brought you to this...of what use was the rule?”. ‘Rule’ has been replaced by ‘Online Safety Act’
