No joy last week 😳. Starting early this week. Open de France. Jeff Winther, won in Denmark in the spring, fair -12 last week (T.15th). Form here in last 4 yrs 8th 2022, T2nd 2023, T2nd again 2024. (Different course last year.). He's -35 for his last 12 rounds at this venue. Ew 12 places 30/1.

In fairness Stade have had very little from the ref tonight, and managed to make a mess of the Bordeaux lineout, but Bordeaux have such a range of weapons they will be a serious contender in European competition again Win comes at a cost though, Jalibert suffering a ripped quad muscle.

Rasmus Hojgaard's collapse last week from 3rd after 12 holes of R3 to nowhere was depressing. Patrick Reed spared some blushes with tied 2nd. First bet this week, Reed again (18/1, 10 places), at Wentworth. 4 times here. Finishes 4,3,5,3. 11th in Switzerland, 2nd in Ireland. More tomorrow.

Queen. 4yrs yesterday gone. Not a huge royalist, and yet, old man in my 60s who doesn't cry. I did. Instinctively. She was a constant in my life. Even mum and dad passed a while ago. Represented our nation with dignity, total commitment, passion, decency. Contrast with Trump. Scary.

First losing week in four last week. In the Swiss mountains at stunning but ever so quirky course at Crans, I expect seasoned course specialists to do well. Matt Wallace 2,1,24,2 last four years, and Thriston Lawrence, two wins in the same period. 12/1 and 50/1. Both Ew 10 places.
