I love the intricate geometry in this style. Ruler and compass is a little too ambitious for me, but I tried replicating a rosette window with the circle/arc function in Inkscape.

I learned lots from this run. Most important, if you're going to file the plate edges smooth, don't do it where you'll be printing! The little plastic bits get everywhere. Drypoint on 4"x5" acrylic plate, printed on 6"x9" stock. #drypoint #printmaking #lazycat

So, the next step in my experiments is drypoint. The acrylic sheet I used was a leftover from a construction project, so I expected a lot more "plate tone". Engraving and Inking the plate will be a learning process. But for a first try, I'm pleased! #printmaking #drypoint #print #woodzilla

More testing. I think I've solved a problem, I was trying to print on too heavy paper. This is on 42g/sm mulberry paper, and I think it will work much better. #linocut #linoprint

The latest linocut. I tried some mulberry paper as well as the multimedia paper. I think I'll need to start using some retarder with the ink to keep it usable longer. (Also, I learned to check the lino for flaws before using it.) #printmaking #linocut #linoprint

Tried for an activation at Uplands Park / Cattle Point (CA-5539). Got a few contacts, but the noise was just too high. Still it was a good chance to get out on the bike, and to try out a mylar space blanket for a ground. That part worked very well! #hamradio #pota #hamonabike
