Got another treasure for the hoard. Haven't quite decided whether I'm going to keep using this filter that simulates an s-video connection on a CRT

The attract sequence for Sega Rally on the Saturn can be seen on the screenCloser shot of the same handheld, with the screen chiefly in view so the CRT effect is more visible. Logistics companies in this part of central Europe seem to use "trans" as short for transport or transportation. Which means I've seen moving vans here emblazoned with things like "Top Trans" and "Trans Team"

The Guardian's live blog on the Brazilian election is going all out to centre the complaints of the fash losers
Headline of the Guardian's live blog at the time of writing, which reads:
Brazil runoff live updates: Bolsonaro says it is ạimpossible to concede' election result after historic Lula winScreenshot from the Guardian's Brazil live blog, which reads:

Lula's reelection win has set up a test for financial markets, with investors expecting recent bets on a change of government to unwind in a volatile week ahead.
Markets had moved sharply in anticipation of a rightwing shift since Flávio Bolsonaro unexpectedly finished first in the election's opening round three weeks ago. Stocks closed on Friday almost 7% above their level going into the first round, while the real currency was nearly 5% stronger against the US dollar.Screenshot from the Guardian's Brazil live blog, which reads:

There is a mixed mood on the streets of Brazil tonight, a few hours on from Lula's historic victory was announced. In Rio de Janeiro, cars beeped their horns and a huge roar echoed in the street as the result was confirmed.
But Rodrigo Valentim, a 51-year-old businessman and supporter of Bolsonaro, said that another Lula government would harm the economy. He pointed to financial markets' positive reaction to the result of the first round, when Bolsonaro bested Lula.
"I don't understand how people can vote for Lula," he said. "The country is collapsing"

I noticed a while back that the Telegraph is blatantly two-faced about this, even by the "standards" (ha!) of the British media
Screenshot of a pair of posts by me, which together read as follows:

I see more Telegraph headlines than I'd like, and their coverage of ADHD and autism is so incoherent. Their news and opinion sections think neurodivergence isn't real, but their lifestyle and health sections are full of profiles of wealthy middle-aged white people talking about their neurodivergence

Their position seems to be "the only people who *really* have these conditions are wealthy white people who might read the Telegraph, everyone else is faking it"

I'm guessing FrameRater's YouTube channel has been hacked. A heel turn into AI slop would be surprising, but I'm not going to give those vids any views by checking. AI is just making everything shit, isn't it? The only genuine use case seem to be automating scams and scam-adjacent shit

Nobody's admitting it, but it seems pretty obvious that the "someone" this judge asked for a list of similar cases was in fact an AI chatbot. And a child abuser served a shortened sentence as a direct result. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Judge Kent Savoie based Roberts' sentence on a list of more than 30 cases that were resolved through plea deals, unlike her prosecution, which culminated in a jury trial and guilty verdict, Louisiana news station KPLC reported.
The judge recently had acknowledged publicly that this was a mistake. "I asked someone to get me a list of cases similar," the judge said at a 31 August court hearing, according to KPLC. "I made an assumption, and that assumption was wrong. I was wrong in that respect."

There was definitely a deliberate editorial decision not to name the pro-slavery countries here. The three pro-slave trade countries were the US, Israel, and Argentina if you're wondering, while the UK was among the abstentions. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/s...
Excerpt of text from linked article with the final sentence highlighted:
Togolese authorities hope the vote will go the same way as another African Union-backed decision at the UN this year. In March a Ghana-sponsored resolution to describe the slave trade as "gravest crime against humanity" passed, with 123 states voting in favour. Three states voted no and 52 abstained.

This line in Khan's Guardian piece about the success of ULEZ suggests he's trying to distance himself from the Labour government's environmental record (and fair enough, he kept the policy and was right to do so). It's a pitch for Green votes. But that means that voting Green is working.
