I've been doing lots of blogging lately, almost as though I'm planning on stepping away from work for an extended period to work on a new project . . . like baby number 2. jillymackay.com/post/return-of-the-…

We have a new preprint available, a pre-registered methods study looking at the relationship between practical exam performance and academic practice, self-efficacy and self-esteem in vet students. The results may shock you! #EdResearch #Academia #VetEd osf.io/preprints/edarxiv/r7vug

Have you ever been been told by an overly enthusiastic presenter that "55% of communication is through body language!"? They're lying to you. The study that's based on only tested women listening to single words. Modern management theory is largely based on bullshit […]

I am delighted to say that my school (R(D)SVS) has decided to leave Xitter. We are no longer going to be maintaining our school account there and this has been a decision made on principle as well. Such a great little positive piece of news IMO 💛

I always feel very complimented when someone uses my paper in an unrelated field to explain a definition of something - like "yeah, I did explain that well! Thanks for reading my random education paper".

[X, Higher Ed] Reinforced by everything else of the past week: “Institutions have a duty of care towards our students, staff and communities…Twitter, or X, is a place, somewhere people go to engage and interact. When we send students, and others in our community, there are we putting them at […]

This has been a very interesting project to be part of (for many reasons!) but I'm delighted to say we've preprinted our submission to #ALTC24 @A_L_T @emilynordmann.bsky.social‬ and I were interested in how educators understood the terms #BlendedLearning #HybridLearning and #HyflexLearning so […]

I decided to blog a bit about our new THE article - some of the slightly more political, and possibly less popular thoughts about UK HE, and how we need to think carefully about what draws students to learn. jillymackay.com/post/still-recording
