Happy to celebrate the first of my former PhD student George Greiff’s first author papers from his funded PhD work in my lab today. Aiming to analyse CLAVATA/WOX interactions in Physco, a first step was to address PpWOX13LC function, which he found to suppress polysety. Moss photo: Des O’Callaghan

Very proud of my PhD alumnus George Greiff for passing his viva and submitting his corrections last week. Not to mention all the other things, a new job at the Cardiff Museum, paper submission and a new house all in the last few weeks! Huge congrats and loved the celebrations 🥳😁.

So pleased that my student Wei Liu successfully defended her PhD thesis yesterday. Joining my lab from Wuhan in 2019, she had a bumpy ride and has shown tremendous tenacity and resilience in taking it over the line. I take my hat off to you Dr Liu! 👏🏻🥳🍾🥂

We visited the beautiful RHS garden at Rosemoor on the way back from Croyde yesterday. Many trees with unusual habits, wonderful formal planting, a Mediterranean garden and masses of Roses in bloom. The students enjoyed the raised herb and veg beds in the education centre 🫛🥬🥕🍓!
