47 years ago--on July 11, 1979--it all came crashing down. In 2024, I wrote about it for @therumpus.net "We were not afraid of being the unlucky ones to get flattened when the space station reentered. In fact, we dreamed of a central Connecticut crash down...Always and everywhere, we are falling."

This is me with my Uncle Mark in 1971. Today would have been his 79th birthday, but he died just shy of his 50th while serving a 10-year mandatory minimum in a federal prison for growing marijuana. He was a gentle, hilarious, big-hearted man & I am thinking about his so hard today.
