Part 5 ☁️ #sanzo

Black and White Comic, Read Right to Left

Zoro leans forward, splashing his head under the water and scrubbing the soap out of his hair. His cheeks are large in a held breathe.
He sits back up, slicking his hair back as water runs down his face.
"Well?" Sanji says, annoyed at the avoidance.
Zoro takes a moment to answer, grumpy with his inability to run away from the confronting conversation.
"Yes." He finally says, not looking at Sanji.

Sanji slides his hand down Zoro's neck and around his chest in a desperate, slow hug.
Zoro shudders at the soft touch, Sanji's hair tickling his neck as Sanji leans his head against his own.
"You don't have to do everything by yourself, you know?" Sanji says.
Sanji runs his hands back across Zoro's shoulders and back, rubbing circles across his muscles.
"I'm here now... So you can relax, right?" Sanji says, comfortingly.
Zoro pauses with a sigh, relaxing into Sanji's touch.
"Right" he responds.

Sanji continues to massage across Zoro's back, working his way down the muscles and rubbing tender lines with his thumbs.
His hands slide around to Zoro's chest, kneeding and rubbing at his skin and he kisses along Zoro's neck. Zoro's breath hitches as the soft touches that relax him, his eyes closed in the moment.

Zoro turns his head to ghost his lips near Sanji's.
"Cook..." He says, their breath mingling in the small zone between them.
"You trying to massage my back with something 'hard'?" Zoro jests, referring to the clear sign of arousal from Sanji that is resting against his back in their close position. Sanji startles with a shocked expression, mouth agape and face gone red.
"AH- SHUT UP" Sanji gawks.
Their faces meet in a soft kiss, Sanji holding Zoro's jaw as he kisses him.
Sanji's voice can be heard from a moment later ending the scene.
"Let's hop out and I'll scrub your back"

Part 4 ☁️ #sanzo

Black and White comic, Read Right to Left

Sanji suddenly snatches Zoro's face up to look him in the eye.
"This crew can take care of itself and you don't need to sacrifice yourself for us." Sanji says, Zoro's surprised, smushed face in his hands.
Sanji runs his hand down Zoro's face, his eyes closing and their for foreheads touching as he pours his heart out.
"Do you not trust us to protect you?"
Sanji pulls back, his face full of hurt and concern.
"Do you not.. trust me?" Sanji says.

Zoro pulls his head back, unphased by Sanji's bleeding heart.
"Of course I trust you, but you can't always be there." He retaliates in a matter-of-fact tone, because obviously Sanji can't always be there and he wouldn't put that expectation on him.
Sanji's hands angrily twitch, still held up from where they were holding Zoro's head. Sanji clearly annoyed at Zoro's reaction to his own attempt to show vulnerability.
Sanji suddenly aggressively scrubs Zoro's hair (to Zoro's dismay), shouting
"NEITHER CAN YOU! IDIOT! DONT HOLD YOURSELF TO SUCH HIGH STANDARDS"

Sanji leans back, letting out a sigh after his angry outburst.
Zoro desperately touches at his head and looks at his hand saying "Am I bleeding?".
"But you feel like you can relax when I'm around?" Sanji says openly, seeing straight through Zoro's defenses.
Zoro startles at his words, before relaxing and blushing at the realization.
"Of course, I know you have my back." Zoro admits.
Sanji leans forward, wrapping his arms around Zoro's head and nuzzling his head on top of Zoro's.
"Guess I'll just have to join you more often then" Sanji says with a content smirk.
Zoro's face scrunches and blushes at the sweet treatment, only offering "Mm" in response.

Sanji looks down at Zoro with a sudden realization.
"Is that why you never bathe? Or why you never come to bed? Why you sleep during the day?" Sanji suddenly barks confrontationally.
Zoro's eye flies open, gawking at the questions and embarrassed the Cook can pick him apart so easily.
Zoro pulls forward, ducking his head with a scoff while Sanji glares down at him with a huff.
This is not the end of this conversation and he will not drop it.

Part 3 ☁️ #sanzo

Black and white comic - Read Right to Left

Sanji continues to run his soapy hands through Zoro's hair, slicking it back as small drops of water run down his face.
"How come?" Sanji asks. Zoro takes a moment to think, brows furrowed.
"A moment of weakness? A vulnerability?" He finally says into the empty room. His katanas can be seen propped against the wall next to his clothes in a basket, a physical reminder of the defences he must be aside in moments like these.
Sanji pauses again, eyes wide and mouth slightly open at Zoro's honest confession.

Zoro's expression can finally be seen as he speaks and it is one of anger, guilt and unease.
He sits forward, hands clenching on Sanji's knees as he speaks. Sanji's hands rest on Zoro's shoulders, trying to anchor him but he begins to be consumed by his thoughts.
"What if I'm not there? If I'm not ready for the fight? I could put the crew in danger. It would be my faul-" Zoro says before Sanji cuts him off with a swift hug. His hand grabbing Zoro's face, covering his mouth with his forearm and resting his head softly against Zoro's.

Zoro allows his face to be smushed in Sanji's arms, knowing that the thoughts that plague him are probably unnecessary, but also knowing where they come from.
"You take on too much" Sanji says flatly, his expression hidden.
Zoro rubs Sanji's leg softly.
He pulls Sanji's arm away enough to speak, closing his eyes.
"I just-" he cuts himself off with a sigh, having difficulty saying the words out loud.
Stairs can be seen leading down between panels. A large red shadow of Kuina can be seen cast on the steps.
"I just don't want to live with anymore regrets" Zoro says with pain in his voice.
Sanji is shocked again at the honest confession. His brow furrows at the word 'anymore' and the realisation that Zoro is haunted by regrets.

Zoro lifts Sanji to his feet with a '-hup' as Sanji rubs the back of his head saying "I could ask you the same thing"
Zoro grabs Sanji's head to inspect it for injuries as Sanji grabs Zoro's hands.
"Are you okay? Did you hit your head" Zoro asks in a slight panic, his face covered with a speech bubble, hiding it from view to Sanji and the reader.
"I'm fine, idiot. Like you could hurt me" Sanji replies.
He holds Zoro's trembling hand in his own.
"Are you okay?..." Sanji asks in reply.

Zoro avoids eye contact, trying to turn and pull away but Sanji softly squeezes his hands. His back is to the view of the reader hiding his expressions still.
"Yeah....I.... You just... Caught me off guard..." Zoro fumbles an excuse.
Sanji looks at him with earnest confusion.
"I just thought I'd come join you by surprise" Sanji tells him, studying his face.
Zoro pulls away from his grasp to turn away, wiping his face with his hand as it continues to tremble.
"Mm.. yeah, that's fine" Zoro says, trying to quell his rapid heart rate and adrenaline still coursing through him.
Sanji is shocked by Zoro's reaction, confirming his suspicions that something is wrong that Zoro isn't comfortable sharing.
He places a hand on Zoro's shoulder and says his name softly, questioning him without prying.
This is the last straw for Zoro's attempted bravado and his head and shoulders drop with a defeated sigh.

The scene cuts to Zoro and Sanji in the bath. The Tub is against a wall and a large window is behind them. Sanji sits upright with Zoro in front of him, more reclined. Sanji is softly scrubbing Zoro's hair with shampoo as they sit in a comfortable silence. Steam wafts through the air from the hot water and Zoro seems to be stewing in thought.

Zoro suddenly speaks, pulling Sanji out of him meditative scrubbing.
"it's only when I'm alone" Zoro says softly.
"Hm?" Sanji says, confused by the lack of context.
"You said earlier.... I was jumpy" Zoro says, his hands clenching and fidgeting on Sanji's bent legs beside him.
"I'm only 'jumpy' when I'm alone" Zoro finally says, bringing Sanji's hands to a halt with his words. Zoro's face and expressions still can't be seen.
