Apparently too old to Rock 'n' Roll and too young to die.

Well, the downside is you missed out on MI2. The upside is you missed out on Ron Gilbert's first attempt at his "clever" ending for Monkey Island.

I suppose that makes tossing it into a volcano out of the question, then.

Then we have Exodus 21:22, which basically equates a violently forced miscarriage to no more than grounds for a civil suit.

Funny timing. One of my LGSs just put up their fall decorations... including a window poster that reads : Pumpkin Spice and Abolish ICE.

It's been awhile, but IIRC, at least QEMM's optimize utility would figure it out for you. My DOS virtual machine in PCEM can get to about 615K without any third party managers, but I have to ditch Smartdrv to get it that high (which in many cases is a good idea anyway).

Problem was that MS-DOS HIMEM and EMM386 were terribly inefficient about relocating stuff to the high and upper memory blocks. Most of the third party memory managers (even the one that came with DR-DOS IIRC) did it better, and would usually get you the conventional RAM you needed.

But the most important question: Does this game encourage the same silly sidestep-turn waltz that has plagued every DM-like since the original DM.

Well, if you used adobe instead of adobo, I suspect that would explain why it tasted a bit "bland".

I'd say I care enough that if I come across news about it, I'll stop and read it... but I'm miles beyond getting my hopes up about it. Which is kind of a shame. If someone could actually recapture the magic of the old Ultima series, it would be like reuniting with part of myself.

4 guys in the lineup are pretty much replacement level or worse at this point. Not sure what people expect. (OK, they probably expect a bit more from RF, considering he's making more present day bucks than Shohei, but that probably isn't getting fixed this season).

I don't think that's a controversial opinion. All you need to do is watch the old looney toons shorts. Lots of referential humor there that is going to go right over the heads of most kids.

As for Spellbook, I'd run it over Reliquary in an affinity deck, or maybe something that needs cheap artifact sac-fodder. I usually wouldn't run either, though I do put RT in two of the 18 or so commander decks in my regular rotation, and it has occasionally come in handy in both.

Jhykron @jhykron.bsky.social · 28/08/2026
For 4 and 5 color decks it's more of a problem (not a problem for me, I find 4 and 5 color decks boring and expensive), but for most decks, you probably aren't going to be losing too many games because one of your lands is a Reliquary.

Don't really disagree with any of this. My original response was intended to be more to the effect of "funny that this devastating combo is thwarted by a much-derided land that Wizards used to throw in every precon." I do think the contempt for the card is a bit much, though. ...

I'd agree the upside of RT is niche enough that it probably isn't going to do you much good in most decks and matchups. "Trap" is a bit much, though... if one colorless-producing land has any measurable bearing on your win rate, your deck obviously has worse problems than RT.

Doesn't reduce it to zero. Reduces it by 7. Infinity minus 7 is infinity.

Fiddly measurements are one thing. "You can't move up to exactly 4 Barkers away from the enemy, you have to stop at least 4 Barkers plus some infinitesimal fraction of a millimeter away" was a whole other level.

Sounds more FOG, to be honest. At least, that's the only ruleset I remember where a non-inclusive "within" would cause problems.

Ours is a big country. Even if half of what we produce (and 90% of what we export) is crap, that still leaves quite a lot that isn't. If you know where to find it.
