"The world's richest men are crushing the world's poorest children." Plaudits to @nickkristof.bsky.social for stating plainly what's happening. We live in ugly times. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/09/o...

This whole Trump/Pope situation led me to pull up "She Left Me For Jesus" by Hayes Carll, so at least there's THAT

That's a Comp IV! We had one at the Carleton University student newspaper in 1976. And the Linotronic 300 -- we were driving one with a CCI front-end system at Print80 in Chicago.

Mine is 'Inside' on Jones Street in the West Village. The chef/co-owner Charleen Badman sent us to Prune when 'Inside' closed. Honourable mention goes to its predecessors Lobster Club and Arcadia on the UES.

ICE killed Ruben Ray Martinez, a U.S. citizen—and you likely haven’t heard about it because DHS has been covering it up for nearly a year. My heart breaks for his family, who deserve immediate answers and an independent investigation into his death. ICE will be held accountable.

There's an error in the article. In 1975, there were more than 2 AM stations in Ottawa. You had 580 CFRA, 910 CBO (cbc radio) 970 CKFH. 1150 CJRC, 1250 CBOF (radio canada), 1310 CKOY and 1440 CFGO (which would move to 1200 in 1986).

Jamie -- love your posts on Bluesky. I remember that Cumberland Terrace hosted CBC's The Bob McLean Show starting in 1975. (It was the successor to Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date which originated from the Four Seasons 'Motor Hotel' over on Jarvis Street.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bob...

Unbelievably, the iconic Philadelphia anthem and Action News theme song "Move Closer to Your World" has never been officially released commercially. UNTIL TODAY. Apple Music: music.apple.com/us/album/mov... Spotify: open.spotify.com/track/6CrWtZ...

Agree. I was thinking it must be April Fools' Day. Someone doesn't have a clue. Claman also wrote "A Place to Stand, a Place to Grow" (Ontari-ari-ari-o!).
