JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I can confirm that it was is good, and that I was not the only one to mention to Paul that I always thought Noel’s Chemical Effluence was about Oasis. 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Another one of Paul Weller’s cheery observations. A great song I love to this day, but not very good for my mental health at 17 y.o. Combined with the b-side, I don’t know how anyone in the Jam managed to get out of bed in the morning! And it went top 20? 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 14/08/2026I strongly recommend the John Cale reinterpretation on his Comes Alive LP. Mr Cale’s over the top vocal delivery is frightening in parts, and feels like the before picture, whereas Lou’s deadpan delivery in this classic original feels more like the after picture. 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 07/08/2026My recollection of the moral of Notes From The Underground after reading it for a Philosophy class in 1990. JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 31/07/2026it was bad enough that I turned 60 last week but now it turns out that 2008 was 18 years ago! This song has aged better than I have. 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 25/07/2026I bought PartyParty sndtrk circa 1983-4? Traded it a few years later because this was about the best thing on it. Foolishly also traded That Summer sndtrk, which included Teenage Kicks. Still don’t know how those records ended up in the cutout bin of a mall record store in suburban Boston. 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 27/06/2026It is it is a sign of my almost lifelong Anglophilia that this made me laugh out loud. 031
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 19/06/2026You must be lonely. Seems half of Scotland is in my backyard! 020
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 12/06/2026They couldn’t entice you into the trivia contest, Mickey? Or at least a song with the Fallen Women? 100
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 09/06/2026Has he forgiven Steve for ruining that song with the haunting, melancholic beauty? 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 05/06/2026I finally made it to Prestwich. First thing I saw off tram was a woman getting sick. Took this photo, stopped in at the Forrester pub for a pint, listened to three old geezers grouse about the state of the country. Like a living Fall song. Or maybe i’m just a hopeless romantic. 031
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 05/06/2026That one was a mixtape song for me. I listened to the first album a lot. The Brian James remix got rid of a lot of reverb and stuff but it lost something in the translation. 030
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 22/05/2026it’s like you found a shoebox covered in dust and cobwebs in the attic of my mind with this one. 020
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Got my ticket, my fight and my ETA application approved. Just need to get a hotel. 😁 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 20/03/2026Not from Ireland, but from my hometown, Quincy (pronounced with a z), immediately south of the Ireland of New England. Sorry for the timing, Mickey, I started listening late tonight, but catching up. 011
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 13/03/2026Love the first album, listened to it 100 times, still can only decipher every third word. 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 06/03/2026I consider Time Bomb their saddest song, because once they play it, the show is over. 🥲 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 06/03/2026The bass player on some of this album is Murray Hammond from Old 97’s, who are a great alt country/Americana band. i’m not sure I’ve ever heard you play them, but if you’ll take a request, please play “Melt Show.” 101
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Now I wonder which one was used on the US version of the first album? What have I been listening to all these? 🤔 My homework assignment for Mr Bradley’s music class. 011
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 18/02/2026Here in the US they were called sea monkeys and promoted as an undersea circus. Either way, there’s a band name in there somewhere. 110
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 14/02/2026Reminds me of Reuben and the Jets. Maybe that’s just me. 🤷♂️ 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 06/02/2026This is a buried treasure for me. One of the many that you have unearthed, Mickey. Thank you. Great show, as usual. 020
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 06/02/202640 years ago I worked in a fine dining restaurant on the coast of Maine. Muzak was quietly pumped into the dining room throughout the evening, driving us slowly insane. The only relief in this 18 hour loop was Linus and Lucy. Vince Guaraldi saved us all. 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 23/01/2026Not sure this is all that accurate, but I’ll take that future over the present. 020
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 16/01/2026unfollow, sorry. i don’t want to hear from the guy who handed us to Trump. 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 02/01/2026Thank you for playing all the records. Great show, again. 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 19/12/2025Yes! The number one Christmas song in my house since 2005! 021
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 21/11/2025Certainly reminds me of when Britain was greater. Is Mark E et al credited? 010
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 19/09/2025Like the song, but a missed opportunity to lay on a wicked Bawstin accent in the Matt Damon impersonation. 021
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 05/09/2025Fridays was a great show for new music that you wouldn’t usually hear on mainstream us television or radio. Larry David and Michael Richards got started there. Andy Kaufman acted up like he did. Felt much cooler than Saturday Night Live. 000
JHat @jhat4real.bsky.social · 15/08/2025Jimmy Pursey and understated, words never used together in one sentence before. 😄 Still love it and the LSWMB. 020
