Yeah, it's not even a short gap. 2 is a Assassin's Creed 2/Titanfall 2/RDR 2/Mass Effect 2-level sequel. Just elevates everything in the first game that worked and throws out the stuff that doesn't.

Surprised by how much I enjoyed Gears of War: E-Day. It's essentially GOW: Reach but there's a lot to be said for the kind of desperate narrative stakes that goes along with having the player be part of a losing war. Likeable new characters too. Good stuff!

FWIW: I liked Bloodlines 2 a lot. I think the context of what they made within the time they had is very impressive. But that name damned that game's accomplishments. Hoping it'll get a second life a few years from now because it's very solid vampire fantasy kind of game

Wouldn’t call Control Resonant a horror game per se but good god one of the quests in there is among the most bone-chilling scenarios I’ve seen in a game. Remedy showing up with the good shit yet again.

Plea to indie devs out there getting ready to release demos or even fully priced products: plz add basic invert options. There's been several indie games I was hyped to try out this year and neither the demo or the eventual full release had inversion options.
