Second target were the Pleiades. This time I pushed it a little bit and switched to 300sec subs. All 26 were good, and the result even contains some visible nebulosity, despite of the non optimal conditions. #Astrophotography #AM5N

So I’ve got an AM5N mount and yesterday I went to the field to do some testing… The first attempt was… suboptimal. I screwed the autoguide config and had to throw most of the subs I got. This is the result, M81 under really bad seeing and strong atmospheric distortion… #Astrophotography

M27 aka Dumbbell nebula. I finally was able to use my EQM35 mount with my Celestron 6SE tube, with a f/6.3 reducer. That thanks to an ASI585MC-Air smart camera taking control of the mount in EQMod mode. Still not satisfied, the tracking was not good and the autoguider was overworked.

Be amazed. This is the Cygnus loop, aka Veil Nebula. It’s in Cygnus, so the scope was pointing to the Milky Way disc. The pic was taken from my balcony, in a Bortle 8 zone (= really bad light pollution). In a blacker sky there would be more stars.

Now that you mention the eclipse again… I have a question for an astronomer. Do these structures have a name or are they just protuberances seen edge-wise?

jguillaumes.eurosky.social @jguillaumes.eurosky.social · 14/08/2026
What about this? It is a photography of an astronomical object (the heart nebula), that you CANNOT see with your own eyes even looking thru a telescope (apart from an almost imperceptible haze), it is a ‘software trick’ that allows to add up many minutes of observation to form a visible image.
The Heart nebula, aka IC1805, about two hours of light taken and stacked with a Vespera III telescope, stretched and enhanced using Siril and Lightroom.
