This is a straight on view of Upper Yosemite Falls. Rushing though a small notch in a several thousand foot granite cliff the water shoots out and tumbles down below ending in a cloud of mist. On a warm day, the temperate drops like 20 degrees as you get near the base and into the mist. When a gust of wind blows, the contained stream of water fans out to be hundreds of feet wide. Below the landing pool is a cascade of smaller falls as the water rushes down the hillside until it gets to Lower Yosemite Falls. This particular day is a cloudless, deep blue sky. At the base of the granite cliff, lots of foliage (trees and bushes) thrives from the mist.

A steep rocky slope (almost 45 degrees) thick with saguaro cacti just reaching and up out of the rocks towards the sky, all in unison going straight upwards. A deep blue sky frames the edge of the slope and one big puffy white cloud contrasts with the lower part of the slope.
