Not surpassing Kwaidan, but I also find Ferrara's THE ADDICTION pretty startling.

I just realized that when you said you only saw four it means you didn't see 16! I was generous in my 15 estimation!

ha ha since I never saw any version of Alexander, that couldn't make the list. the Blade Runner reedit was good EXCEPT the ending was completely ruined (it's stupid to have a reveal of androids chasing androids, just a twilight zone trick, it's way better if Deckard is human), so I can't condone it!

The Wraith is awful. It looks undirected, it isn't cut togethe well, and one suspects Sheen walked off the picture, he seems to barely be in it. I've never seen a more fact-based opinion!

Sure, why not? He also made Turbulence with Ray Liotta. Guy worked a lot!

James Kenney @jfkenney.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
It's fast-paced and shot entirely on the streets of New York, so it's watchable. Sidney Furie, the original director, quit or got fired, but the guy who replaced him (Butler) was a pro. So I wouldn't really call it "really terrible." Sorta watchable is more accurate.

James Kenney @jfkenney.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Well there is a difference, SORCERER was a BIG movie by William Friedkin with expectations, JUGGLER was a lower budget movie with James Brolin who had the director replaced, I don't think they ever TRIED to make money with it. But it's better than it's rep, that's for sure!
120
James Kenney @jfkenney.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Yes & no. Juggler actually got a re-release this year, playing theaters across the nation in an new 4k restoration. I don't think it's very good, but it is "hot" for the moment. THE HEARSE also got a Blu-ray release, so it's not entirely forgotten. The Mad Magazine film is still a loser, though.
