Good effort @ #readingfc but we just do not have enough players at the right level. Interesting watching Lincoln - no stound put players just a hard working, disciplined team with no weak areas.

I can appreciate the brilliance of Marriott - but #readingfc are not a fun watch. Did not even try and play football today. I suppose a point is a point - but surely we are better than this style of play.

Seeing the #readingfc team I think shows that Richardson is as fearful as I am tonight. He is trying another Stockport… going to be a long 90 mins…

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 14/02/2026

Not sure what to say about today at #readingfc. One team played some very nice quick passing football, dominated possession and controlled the game. The other team won!! I suppose the difference is that we have Marriott!!!

020

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 10/02/2026

They have lost 4 of last 5 and have no Manager as sacked at the weekend…. Surely #readingfc !?!?

Feels quite season defining tonight (but probably is n’t). A loss would feel like playoffs slipping away from us and a reality check to how good we really are #readingfc

Much better performance than last week and great performances from the new hires. Mixed opinions on the game and whether we dropped points we should have got - but in the end it was a good point, coming from behind against a decent team. #readingfc

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 04/01/2026

A superb performance by the Manager at #readingfc today. He created a plan that the team kept to with great discipline. Whilst not very interesting to watch for 80 mins - he navigated us a win against a very good team. Team worked very hard to contain Stockport and deserved the win.

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 19/12/2025

Marriott is a dream as you give him a hint of an opportunity and he slams it in! Not sure we now shoot up the table - but was so much better. Felt we had a plan and the players were organised. An excellent win for #readingfc

What a great night at #readingfc Luton were a good team and deserve their position in the table. I have been very rude about recent games and whilst they are still not the finished article - Leam saw the problems and has tackled them and you cannot ask for more than that.

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

What in the hell was that #readingfc. No plan, no quality, no answers. Very worrying.

030

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

Hoping #readingfc are going to warm me up on this wet winter evening when I really want to stay in doors!

I like to keep an open mind rather than jump to a reaction - but can anyone explain to me why Joe Lewis is worthy of a pardon. He pleaded guilty to insider trading! Genuine question #joelewis

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 06/11/2025

Really enjoyed tonight - I liked the way we played - they mixed it up from being very direct and building from the back and you could see we had a plan. Players worked harder and spirits seemed up. High score to all players - everyone did well…… thoroughly enjoyable night! #readingfc

The similar late capitulation to Shrewsbury in 2023 was a turning point in the season. Let’s hope this one is too…. #readingfc

Uninspiring choice - but we’ll get behind him… #readingfc

010

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

What can you say about Ehibhatiomhan?? Nothing from him last night and not looking like it either and then a great goal. Him all over. Feel for Hunt trying to work him out!

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 23/08/2025

Mixed day at Adams Park for #readingfc. So much better than Wednesday and special mention to Ahmed for excellent game and Jacob for two match saving tackles. Worry about O‘Mahony still offering very little and the two wingers despite Camara’s excellent header. Shame they sat back in 2nd half!!

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

I’ll take the point - but we were awful and the big question is how did Bolton lose? V. Lucky #readingfc

Scarily poor first half. Seem to have learnt nothing from Saturday in fact it is worse. Amazing we are not behind. #readingfc

020

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

Nervous about #readingfc tonight. I know it is early days but I was angry about the lack of tactics and strategy on Saturday. Needs to be so much better. Would like to see Elliott on the pitch.

010

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

Feel very relieved to get the first win. Not quite sure why I was so worried. Maybe this year we’ll be great on the road!?!! Season can get going now #readingfc

050

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

I agree - we have a club that is solvent and we can watch a team each week at the Mad Stad. That nearly didn’t happen. Whilst I want Reading to kick on - for this season - the rest has to be a bonus. Jeez people have short memories #readingfc

030

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 19/07/2025

Good day out at Reading V Spurs - not sure we learnt much except we have some great kids coming through. Garcia and Eliot looked exciting - they were making things happen. Roll on the season!! #readingfc

Damn - I spoke too soon #GWR had not finished with me yet! Not by a long chalk.

It’s a beautiful day and so naturally Great Western Railway have switched the air con off and journey times have doubled…. You cannot but admire their consistency in making your day worse. #GWR

Have to ignore today as have loved this #readingfc team. Their grit and determination, never give up attitude and flair. They obviously lobed playing for Reading too. With the size of squad and what they have been through, 7th place is amazing!!!! I will remember this season very fondly.

Great player, but Wing is playing too deep. With the ball #readingfc have 5 at the back so options forward are limited - meaning long passes to our wings - which are not our strength and it is taking Knibbs and Savange out the game. Need the great thro balls into the box from further up the field.

010

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 29/03/2025

Great game today and Peterborough were not bad and played some good football. So great win especially without Bindon and Mbengue. Lovely goal from Savage who is so stylish with the ball. Up to 6th which I never saw coming - Exciting #readingfc

What a game, what a team. Maybe goal of the season too. Everyone played superbly - prob give Garcia man of the match. Superb night and I love this team #readingfc

I have seen some terrible ref decisions in my time - but tonight was the very worst. Unless he gives a red card every single match he has treated us differently. Terrible terrible referee!!! #readingfc

050

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 05/03/2025

Weird game last night. #Readingfc def not on it and lucky. Once again they dug in and fought to get the draw helped by possibly the worst “finishing” by Exeter that I have ever seen!!!

030

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 23/02/2025

True grit and determination from Reading yesterday - typical of why we like this team so much. Not sure Ehibhatiomhan worked up front and Wareham was good when he came on. Anyway for a 0-0 it was a cracking game. #readingfc

031

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 15/02/2025

I know it’s stupid but making the ref go across to the corner to check the ball did make me laugh!! Especially with the Rotherham players reaction! #readingfc

Strange game today but we deserve a few decisions our way. Great team spirit again and important to have Mbengue back. Another late winner! Love this team!! #readingfc

So enjoyed today - just down real aggression and hard work by #readingfc. They really wanted it and thoroughly deserve the win…. Vital win!

Shame to lose Sam Smith, but it is definitely good business by #readingfc

020

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

Hunt has got to sort out this defence - it is woeful at the moment. So full of gaps! #readingfc

030

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 18/01/2025

Understand we are playing people out of position etc which makes it tough for them and can’t be helped- but worried by the basic tactics today and sloppy set plays. No excuse for that #readingfc

040

Jonathan Firth @jfirth.bsky.social · 01/01/2025

#GWR #GreatweaternRailway cancelled their 1.42 from Paddington at Ealing. Throwing out hundreds and hundreds of people with no way to get home and no more trains. Terrible service again. Shameful company.

Hate to say it - but getting excited about the Bills this year……however it’s the the hope that etc etc…..

Hope today was just bad day at the office and tiredness and not signs that something deeper has changed with the players or our tactical ability. #readingfc

Binden & Garcia seem to be top of the list.
